# Activating best chain ... is anybody getting this?

i keep getting this for the last couple of days?

i did the steps here: [Stuck on "Activating Best Chain"](https://forum.zcashcommunity.com/t/stuck-on-activating-best-chain/4795) yesterday , and today got the same thing again!!

(I also posted the below on that topic):

copy ~/.zcash/wallet.dat and ~/.zcash/zcash.conf somewhere else

Nuke the ~/.zcash directory

run `mkdir ~/.zcash`, copy zcash.conf and wallet.dat back into it and start zcashd again
