Hey all, been a while since the last update here. CipherPay has been shipping pretty consistently since April so here’s what’s new.
Donation Campaigns
Organizations or Individuals can create a campaign page with a goal, custom branding, and a shareable link. Donors pay in shielded ZEC, no data collected, no email, no name, nothing stored.
Each donation gets a fresh diversified address.
Added social share buttons, custom thank-you messages, Open Graph meta tags for link previews, and human-readable slugs (so your link isn’t a random hash). First campaign raised $1,524 in 48 hours.
Point of Sale (POS mode)
This is probably the most tangible new feature. CipherPay now has a dedicated in-store register experience, a PWA you install on a tablet or phone at a counter.
The flow: staff member opens the POS, enters their PIN, picks items or types a custom amount, customer scans the QR, done. Tipping built in, receipt screen after confirmation, language switcher for the customer-facing side.
The point is separation. The person behind the counter doesn’t need access to the merchant dashboard, API keys, or wallet configuration. They get a locked-down interface that only does one thing: take payments.
Coffee shops, market stalls, pop-up stores, conference merch tables, anywhere you’d normally tap a card terminal, you can now accept shielded ZEC with the same UX. No hardware to buy, no app to install for the customer. They just scan with whatever Zcash wallet
Passkeys
WebAuthn support. Log in with biometrics or a hardware key instead of a password. No SMS codes, no phishing surface. Merchant accounts are high-value targets so this felt necessary.
WooCommerce on WordPress.org
The WooCommerce plugin got accepted into the WordPress Plugin Directory. Install it from your WP dashboard directly, same as any other plugin. v1.0.1 is live.
Arabic + RTL
Full Arabic localization with proper right-to-left layout support. Shipped ahead of the ZcashArabia AMA.
Subscription pause/resume
Merchants can now pause and resume subscriptions via API and dashboard. Includes invoice safety guards so you don’t accidentally bill someone during a paused period.
Restricted API keys
You can now create API keys with scoped permissions, read-only, invoice-only, etc. Useful if you have staff or integrations that shouldn’t have full account access. Like AI agents.
Billing system
CipherPay now has a proper billing model. Per-merchant fee rates, settlement invoices, billing email notifications, expandable past billing cycles in the dashboard with CipherScan links to verify on-chain. Fee outputs below the dust threshold (the thing @nuttycom flagged) are now eliminated, no more worthless notes.
