Sure, we can stream into Zoom. I would really like to see a mass exodus from Zoom, though.

Yes, the advantages are its FOSS (and non-proprietary I thnk), supports offline-usage and the privacy benefits of not using google and microsoft translate, which speechlogger does. The disadvantages are that you are restricted to hardware performance capabilities and other peoples’ training models (a big deal), the setup is a bit clunky currently, limited to linuxi and, overall, it’s wip, raw.
The other settings, such as energy threshold and timeout may may have advantages for specific languages. I don’t know but if that were known, it could be set with an automatic adjustment. But that would require tooling it all into a nice package, I’m not capable of really doing that.
