Many people are saying the same thing. We hope POS update progresses quickly.
I hear you @NimmyNims and others, I’ll lay off. At this point I’m starting to feel like old man yells at cloud. ![]()
Remember my opinions are my own, I don’t represent anyone other than my personal viewpoint. I want Zcash to succeed as much as everyone does.
anyone that doesn’t see the interest in zcash and it’s adoption has gone down in correlation to the price is just blind/or doesn’t want to see it.
so price does matter, it even matters in terms of privacy! if there are just a hundred users on the network we aren’t much better than other privacy coins that do not offer the same privacy guarantees but have a much larger transaction pool to hide your identity.
price action over the last years have hurt this project badly! and as i said recently, most of the guys that got burned in believing in the vision of ZEC won’t come back! we are in a really bad situation atm, and it’s sad to see that @Dodger and @joshs don’t care to share their own perspective on such an important topic, especially when there are a lot of concerned community members. (even zooko liked my post)
I don’t think you’re alone, with this feeling lol!
That is the dream! A virtuous cycle of growth where everyone is pleased with how the participate with the Zcash ecosystem. ZEC seller-users are happy, ZEC receivers-buyers-holders-yielders are happy!
Yep! There is nothing cypherpunk about making people poor either. Part of the cypherpunk ethos is about using technology to create shared prosperity/ freedom/ opportunity, part of that equation is both wealth & privacy. We can’t skip out on the wealth part.
It is sad because they’ve legally painted themselves into a corner. Zcash is under the control of the US Non-Profit/ SEC laws
It is sad that one of the important topics for adoption cannot be spoken to by the project leaders. I can admit, Shawn finally lead me to the point of clarity. There is no reason to keep asking Josh and Jack about their opinion about the crisis of ZEC. They’re legally not allowed to say anything.
It seems like it is time to get the ECC and ZF out of the US, or at least get them out of the Non-Profit prison. I like the idea of re-chartering the big orgs to a shelter/ shell corporate island, that way they can reclaim some liberties to be able to strategize around ZEC’s value, in addition to the technical/ administrative needs of the network.
I’m actually generally happy with the wallet experience. What exactly is the problem now?
I believe that the wallet situation is improving and that we still have a long way to go to make self custody of Zcash an excellent experience.
The good news is @josh is making a great wallet experience for self custody one of ECC’s top priorities, along with PoS.
My conclusion hasn’t changed: we must give the new strategy time and let the developers build and transition Zcash from PoW to PoS.
And @hanh i believe you’re one of the best Zcash developers and as an investor your presence here is crucial to the success of Zcash. Thank you.
i think we can all agree here! thank you for helping Zcash @hanh
Thanks for the kind words. Could you elaborate on the reasons why self custody is not an excellent experience today? I’d like to understand whether it is something that can be fixed or not.
I’ll send you a DM and we’ll connect there. Thank you Hanh.
