Milestone 1 & Milestone 2 Report
M1: Upstream Review and Regression Hardening
Following the original correction in PR #163, I completed two additional fixes, both merged into GraphSense on October 8, 2026:
-
PR #192: Strengthened missing-value checks, extended integer-zatoshi accounting to Sprout and Zcash outputs, and added real-data regression tests.
-
PR #193: Fixed fee recalculation after transparent inputs are resolved through Cassandra and added a regression test.
Both passed their upstream CI checks: #192 results and #193 results. The maintainer also publicly accepted #192, describing the work as “very thorough.”
M2: Reproducible GraphSense Accounting Validation
I have published the validation package as v1.0.1, with captured mainnet evidence, a versioned manifest, expected results, and JSON/Markdown reports.
The package compares GraphSense 2.16.3 against 2.16.4 using 47 transactions across 10 blocks, including 43 previous transactions for transparent-input resolution. The corrected version matches expectations on 47/47 transactions; all 13 discrepancies in the older version are explained.
The passing release workflow also checks GraphSense 2.17.0 and the pinned upstream revision containing merged PRs #192 and #193.
Validation runs offline after installation. The reviewer guide provides reproduction steps, the expected checksum and deliberate failure checks.
