# Is there a comprehensive guide to mining zcash on Windows?

I’ve successfully gotten zcash mining to work on my Linux machine, but what about for Windows? I’ve been routed to GitHub repos like this: [Release Nicehash nheqminer v. 0.3a · etherchain-org/nheqminer · GitHub](https://github.com/etherchain-org/nheqminer/releases/tag/0.3a) and [Release Latest WIN builds · nicehash/nheqminer · GitHub](https://github.com/nicehash/nheqminer/releases/tag/0.4b) but I’ve only ever seen instructions that were for the pre-release of zcash or instructions that were too hard to follow. Does anyone know of any updated and simplified guides to follow to mine on Windows? or could anyone lend me a helpful hand?

Do you want to mine on CPU or GPU?

You should mine on a pool, if you do so, they have a lot informations about mining on their sites.

Thanks for the link! I figured out what my issue was though - I had my antivirus software running while I was trying to mine and it was deleting the nheqminer.exe file every time I tried to access it from the command prompt. Guess I’ll have to mess with my antivirus!
