This is the problem. People are not the zcash, but the money need. They do not know what the zcash means.

I have and it’s fine with me. I’m not trying to control any coin. Look at BTC still on POW. And it’s been claimed the Bitmain has more then 51% of the total hash rate.

Nobody benefits from PoS actually. If things will be like you’ve said, entrance gap into crypto will rise dramatically. Zcash would never started without initial PoW hype. It’s technology is being developed without using ICO or other pre-sale methods only using money from founder’s reward. Look at the anouncements on Bitcointalk today and you’ll see hundreds of projects with masternodes and it’s real problem for everyone who searches intersting projects for investing or mining. If you see huge reward share for masternodes, the coin will dump. For PoS things will be the same: the bigger reward - the higher dump. So today PoW is the only working decenralized(not like XRP or EOS) deflation model: you should use hardware you already have(CPU or GPU) to burn some electricity to create some personal value + small amortisation of hardware. In PoS you don’t actually burn dollars for buying share - you give them to the previous holder(you buy, he sells). It’s not better than fiat economy where money that you don’t spend lose their value. PoS is more like bank deposit. And as we know deposit can only decrease inflation influence.

While I don’t agree with POS for selfish reasons. You and your ilk have gone on about decentralization and making sure everyone can get it.

1.) I don’t want to change things actually, neither i want(ed) and algo change, nor an algo tweak nor anything, it’s you that want to change things, not me!
2.) I just share my opinion on POS, i’am not forcing, pressuring, crying, whinning on anything since i joined this forum. I’am happy with whatever happens actually and none of the nonstop whinners and cry babies here.
Just because i’am by now a believer in POS being the future shouldn’t be any concern to you if you think that it is more flawed than POW. We will see how many of the top projects decide end of 2018/2019 and see who is better prepared …
3.) Your so mentioned others are some \<100 people/miners, visible from the useless polls that in no way represent everybody affilated in anyway with Zcash. Actually it’s the total minority that share the views here (me included!). Many of these even neither hold by today Zcash neither mine it…
4.) I wasn’t aware that actively contribute to a forum is nowadays a bad thing, or is it just because it’s different from your opinion? Everybody is free to contribute as much as he wants to a forum. Just join a closed forum and you don’t have to deal anymore with my posts or just pass them, no big deal and easy to do 😉

Yes you contribute. But in this thread, it seems that you have jumped on everyone in this thread that did not have your same views! But that’s how I read what you say. So how many main coins are POS? What polls? I don’t pay attention to polls.

In hindsight it seems naive of Sia to announce their own ASIC in an attempt to become a miner manufacturer without expecting competitors to enter their market. Further, they took pre-orders with a lead time of many months so that Sia users would bear the majority of the risk of their new hardware company.

Agree - what I found interesting was how quickly Bitmain got their own miners to market, also that although Sia had the ability to kill non-Obelisk ASIC they didn’t use it (I would have).

The speed that ASICs can be developed seems way faster than even a year ago. It seems like Bitmain and Innosilicon have everything in place to quickly design, prototype and manufacture. This is why I have trouble believing that ASIC resistance is possible. It’s just too profitable to use the systems they have in place to quickly adapt to CryptoNightV7 or new Equihash parameters or some other algorithm.
Side note: that I think most gpu-only miners are blinded by their time and investments in graphics cards to see this new reality.
