Yah. But with bitcoin. And every top ten coin. Which is asic. You have a solid network, without a security flaw in 9 years. And fast, cheap transaction
What bending math fact are you referring to?
What ideology are they justifying and how?
The Zcash Foundation has issued a statement here: home - zcash foundation
One of their steps is: Making research and development of a more ASIC resistant strategy an immediate technical priority for the Foundation. - in other words, the Foundation is committed to researching possible avenues for potentially improving ASIC resistance while also looking at how the introduction of ASICs affects the network in the short-term.
Not sure what you are getting at. So, as a home miner, you have 1000W available. It does not matter “for the planet” if you deploy 6 GTX 1060 or 3 ASICS. Capiche?
Go ahead, spend 6K on something that would be worth 2K at most in a couple of months.
Maybe, you would mine another $500, if you are lucky. Check out what happened to DASH ASICs, lol.
Mining is a financial system.
When prices rise, mining capacity rises. In the end it is the reward system that drives the behavior.
Mining is mean reverting.
More efficient miners of any type results in an immediate shift to capture more reward, or maintain a level over a longer sampling time.
If the entire network was replaced with these miners but power was kept constant, the security of the network is effectively increased due to higher difficulty.
Fixed resource systems are ripe for monopoly. People with the resources to bully everyone out will be able to do so unless challenged by an equal opposition.
Most people here, I believe, oppose the effective monopoly power that bitmain can hold over zcash network in the future. ASICs are great. Competition is great. putting GPUs back in gaming machines is great. If we each could get 1MegaSol/s from a raspberry pi it’d be geat. The problem lies only with bitmain and their business practices.
And yet I think from a personal financial standpoint, I am still buying one. I have a small farm in my residence and I’d be happy to replace it all with an asic rack. Smaller. Cooler. Easier. And I’d be happy to get the same reward.
Again. Who are you. The fortune teller.
This is all based on your OPINION.
I run 2 13 gpu rigs for a total of 4000 Watts.
This gets me just under 13k sol
Or one z9 for 10k sol at 300 watt
SURE SOUND LIKE A NO BRAINER TO ME.
and when ASICS take over. Gpu’s leave. Difficulty may be higher yes. But not like everyone is crying about. Cause gpu’s will move on. And the difference will be made in electricity savings.
And then you have a solid network. Where people Invested in specific machines for your product/network rather than a product that can switch for multiple things depending on price.
Your arguments mean nothing, they are not sound.
You guys are mad about having to find another coin to mine. Your just greedy and don’t care about the future of the network. You just want your profits. I want a solid network like bitcoin. Where people invest in specialized hardware. That’s investing in that project. No jumping around with your gpu’s.
If everyone else get the same miners, it WOULD NOT MATTER.
Can you get it? It does not matter what is your hashing rate. the only thing that matters is what proportion of the ALL HASHING rate your rate is.
It is not like you are special in that you would order Z9 and no one else would.
GPU have resell value of 50-100% after 1-2 years.
ASICS for alts have resell value of 10-30% after few months.
Hello there. I like ZEC, like minig ZEC even when it was $175, but in my country i can’t purchase any ASIC (but not GPU). When they will be on the market, i will be FORCED to leave mining ZEC. And i think there are much more like me. So go on with your electricity bills and future of the network
What does resale have to do with the price of tea in China. If I wanna buy something that won’t resell…so what.
SEE THIS IS THE POINT.
IF YOU BUY AN ASIC. YOU ARE INVESTING IN ZCASH.
GPU HABE ——NO——-INVESTMENT
THEY CAN CHANGE ANY MINUTE TO THE NEXT COIN
NO NEED TO SELL CAUSE YOU INVESTED TOURSELF IN A PROJECT
here, see what he posted and my reply here:
Mine something you can and buy zcash. There is always a solution instead of whining
Go ahead, lose money, I won’t stop you.
I get the calcs bio,
I know the price won’t be the same in 2-3 months.
I’ve been mining since 2011. I know this game well
But it’s not like you all say. Not that bad. Maybe half of projections now. But figure saving 3-400 a month in electricity.
I know if you want a long term, adopted coin…this is what happens
I’d feel honored TBH, Bitmain took the time to make an asic for this algo.
That means you made it to the big time
Progression.
You won’t. You are a willing donator to Bitmain. Congrats, but it is easier just to set your cash on fire. This would produce a smaller environmental impact.
You missed the point. Some of us don’t want be forced by allmighty Bitmain and greedy Z9 buyers. Just it
Yea and that’s my problem with asics. I believe most miners don’t have no problems with the tech itself but the situation that there is only one strange competitor on the market who sells the machines perhaps still used with a warranty for 180 days is not acceptable in my opinion. If bitmain would be as trustable as nvidia or amd nobody would even talk about asics.
Until there is no European or American asic producer who works with zcash Co. The coin should not be mineable with asics.
I think if there is an official asic with the z on yellow ground to buy, most people would buy one.
There are actually many asic manufacturers
5-6 decent sized atm. Miners available all over
Now zcash is a new miner so yes one company.
But you can’t hate Bitmain cause no one else can do what they do. That’s capitalism
LOL, Bitmain is a mainland china company, under communist party “guidance”.
What capitalism are you talking about? They drove the only “good” western company out of business by something close to illegal dumping.
The question remains…
What ideology are they justifying and how?
Why don’t you answer it yourself. We both know it. You can spell it out.
I see that you did not want to know the answer to the first question, which was more important.
