Feature suggestion: enable automated and customized migration to the new Ironwood pool. The idea is to allow users to configure a one-time migration—specifying the destination (a single Ironwood address or multiple addresses) and the amount to be migrated (partial or total)—securely and without requiring manual transfers. ---

The Deb _runs_ on Linux Mint 21. 👍 But when adding a wallet, the wallet birthday line displays thusly: ```auto Wallet Birthday. If you don’t know this, it is OK to enter ‘419200’ ``` …with characters encoded. And, unlike the instruction implies, I had to enter the wallet’s birthday for the wallet to be added. Without entering the birthday, the Create Wallet button simply did nothing, no error message either. Then, after I figured out I had copied the block height (an unlabeled number in Zkool) instead of the birthday, all seems to work fine. It would be nice if it were possible to modify the wallet’s birthday within its settings for scenarios like these. Also: - I don’t see why you would start it through a script instead of just having the desktop file call the binary. Calling the binary directly works fine as far as I can tell. - The way it’s installed now means people can’t run `zingo` from a terminal, so I added `alias zingo='/opt/Zingo\ PC/zingo-pc'` to my `~/.bash_aliases` to fix that. But it would probably be better to add a symlink in `/usr/bin/` upon installation. - Capitalized and spaced (system) folders are unconventional on Linux systems, I’d opt for simply `zingo` (or `zingo-pc`) instead of `Zingo PC` Are you familiar with the [XDG Base Directory Specification](https://specifications.freedesktop.org/basedir/latest/)? ---

Thanks, this is great feedback — most of it is already fixed: - **Encoded characters in the birthday line** (`’`/`‘`): fixed, now renders as proper quotes. - **Create Wallet doing nothing silently** : fixed — it now shows a clear error for each missing/invalid field. - **Symlink in `/usr/bin`** : added on install — `zingo-pc` now works from a terminal. - **Launch via script instead of binary** : that’s intentional — the wrapper only exists to handle `zcash:` payment links (it forwards the URI to the binary). For a normal launch you can call the binary (or the new `zingo-pc` symlink) directly. Added a code comment explaining this so it’s not mysterious. - **Editing the birthday in settings** : good idea, noted for later — it’s a bit more involved since changing the birthday means re-syncing from that height. - **Renaming `Zingo PC` → `zingo-pc` / XDG** : we’re keeping the product name as-is for now. On macOS/Windows/MAS it also drives the app-data directory, so renaming would orphan existing wallets on update unless we ship a data-migration step — not worth the risk just for the folder name. The `/usr/bin` symlink covers the practical part (terminal use). Appreciate the detailed report! Those fixes will be available in the next release, hopefully soon. ---

I would say that you can probably install the .DEB artifact in your OS… but honestly we didn’t test the installation on Linux Chrome OS… ---

I tried the .Deb artifact, but debian package installs are no longer supported. from Claude… That deprecation is only the UI-based installer — double-clicking a `.deb` in the Files app. `apt` from the terminal still works, and that is how to install it: 1. In Files, right-click the downloaded `.deb` → **Copy to Linux files** (Chrome’s Downloads folder is outside the container). 2. Open the **Terminal** app and run: `sudo apt install ./zingo-pc__amd64.deb` There is no separate Chrome OS build — that `.deb` is the one, and it is x86\_64 only, so it won’t install on an ARM Chromebook (MediaTek or Snapdragon). If you hit that, tell us which model and we’ll look at an ARM build. If `apt` gives you trouble, the AppImage is the fallback: `chmod +x Zingo.PC-.AppImage` and run it from the terminal. We prefer the `.deb` because its post-install step is what keeps Chromium’s sandbox working on Debian. ---
