You need a full node (should use zebrad, since zcashd will be deprecated), or will need to rely on a third-party lightwallet server which may not be acceptable.
i dont have the memory to run zcashd but have many coinbase utxos or that need shielded as well as utxos consolidated and sent to my shielded address. Can I ask someone in the forum to do this for me if i pay them or is that against the rules? thank you

We are still waiting on the update. Hopefully Gem Wallet gets added soon. Thanks in advance.
I lost my seed phrase because my phone was stolen, when I backed up my new phone it signed me out but it says it still recognizes that there is data from my old wallet (it pops up when I click create new wallet) is there any way for me to recover my old data?
Scanning zcashd can take days, potentially.
Unsure whether your wallet can be recovered. If the new wallet opens up to the same old one because of your phone backup then yes, but otherwise without direct access to the seed, likely not.
What wallet is this?
I downloaded Zkool and imported Zcash from my Ledger Nano, did a test send on Nov 19 and it went through fine. Today I tried to send some Zcash to my new Trezor wallet after updating my Ledger Wallet and installing the newest Zkool. The transaction failed with the following error:
Transaction ID: failed to validate tx: WtxId(āprivateā), error: transaction did not pass consensus validation: Downcast from BoxError to redjubjub::Error failed: downcast to known transaction error type failed, original error: ScriptInvalid
Anyone encountered the same issue? Any idea how to resolve this?
Thanks for any help you can provide.
Make sure you download the latest version of Zkool that has NU 6.1 support:
Thanks but the Zkool Iām using is the latest version v6.8.0.
The zondax shielded app is no longer maintained by zondax.
I have pushed a PR to the Ledger repo but still need some time to complete the process.
Thank you! Is it related to the following error Iām experiencing?
Transaction ID: failed to validate tx: WtxId(āprivateā), error: transaction did not pass consensus validation: Downcast from BoxError to redjubjub::Error failed: downcast to known transaction error type failed, original error: ScriptInvalid
When do you think the updated Zcash shielded app for Ledger will be available to install?
No idea⦠I donāt work for Ledger. This is all done on my free time tooā¦
Hello, iām hoping to get some guidance on wallet library usageā¦
Iām presently using the zcashd internal wallet, but have hit a snag: There doesnāt seem to be any kind of note management / coin control offered, it seems to be managed automatically by the z_sendmany method.
I have attempted CreateRawTransaction, however it doesnāt seem to accept orchard/sapling/unified recipient addresses, whereas SignRawTransactiondoesnāt seem to accept an orchard note as input (not able to sign v5 txn without knowing all inputs). I also looked into the zebra wallet, but it seems to be an (incomplete) copy of the zcashd wallet, according to the openapi spec.
iām ultimately looking for a cli/rpc wallet/library that allows complete utxo and note management aka coin control. Help would be appreciated, thanks.
I created a demo for creating multisig transactions using createrawtransaction that may be helpful:
demo scripts: here
Keep in mind zcashd is being deprecated and these scripts are for educational purposes only.
Options
Zallet
Use the new Z3 stack with Zallet.
Alpha3: here
Keep in mind you will need a fully synced zebrad node + lwd/zainod light server to use this option. It is also in alpha!
zingo-cli
A third option is also with the Z3 stack but with zingo-cli:

github: here
Zcash-devtool
Lastly, you can also play with the zcash-devtool without needing a full node locally:
github: here
Iām not keen on using alpha software that may break with every new release, and unfortunately zingolib does not allow utxo/note management, as stated clearly in their readme
Zingo-CLI does automatic note and utxo management, which means it doesn't allow you to manually select which address to send outgoing transactions from. It follows these
principles:
So iāll ask again, are there any stable cli/json rpc libraries that allow for full coin control / utxo management? meaning a MANUAL selection of notes to use as inputs. Iām talking about all address types, transparent & shielded, from what i can tell, rawtransaction only works with TRANSPARENT senders/recipients. Itās very hard to believe that such a functionality doesnāt exist, iām just not able to find it very easily at all.
One thing you may be able to use is a zebra node locally + Zkool which allows note control at the wallet level.

Can use a full node OR light node with zkool:
Perhaps this will help you:
It does appear zkool offers some kind of coin control exclusion functionality, but unfortunately itās a mobile app therefore cannot be automated/scripted, which is what i need.
Yes, desktop app works too, so you would need to dig into hahns open source code and create a solution. Btw welcome to the forums! ![]()
So to your knowledge, such a function does not exist in any cli/library ? Iāll wait for others to chime in, but i must admit itās very puzzling how such an important feature is absent from practically the entire ecosystem. Very strange indeed.
Lots of opportunity indeed. ![]()
