I wasn’t following zcash closely, newly built zcashd v6.2.0 says it’s depreciated then shut down by itself:

```auto
Error: This version has been deprecated as of block height 2796400. You should upgrade to the latest version of Zcash.
```

The wallet was from before the unified address (was it NU5 ??). There are some ZEC in there. It seems that i need a node (zebrad) and a separate client.

Is fund still recoverable? If yes how do i migrate/upgrade?

thank you!

Edit: The block height 2796400 was mined on 23 Jan 2025, but zcashd v6.2.0 was released recently. I don’t quite understand this.

Edit2: i still have private key of z-addr previously dumped using command `zcash-cli z_exportkey <z-addr>`. The privkey started with `secret-extended-key-main`. Is there any wallet now accepting this privkey?

Yes, it can be done with Ywallet but it’s not always a straightforward process.

Have a read through this thread:

> It has worked. Here’s where I stumbled: 1- inputting the mnemonic for my sapling addresses and generated by zcash-cli exportwallet (zcashd 6.2) into YWallet 1.8.1 did not work. YWallet did not explicity inform of the failure, however, as Auto had clearly stated that it wouldn’t work, I didn’t waste alot of time trying to get it to work. 2- Further following Auto’s instructions, I created an account for each sapling address I wanted to import to YWallet 1.8.1. During the import, I was sure…

Something is not right. Zcashd 6.2.0 [halts at height 3021100](https://github.com/zcash/zcash/blob/2352fbc1ed650ac4369006bea11f7f20ee046b84/doc/book/src/user/release-support.md?plain=1#L47C24-L47C31). Double check you’re compiling the right code and version.

Zcashd hasn’t been deprecated yet. The easiest path may be to get the correct zcashd running and them you should use its CLI to transfer your funds to a new wallet.

I would also double check your version

`zcash-cli --version`

Check the thread Shawn posted, some good info if you choose the ywallet route.

I can offer more support either on discord or direct message here in the forums if you need it, lmk.
