Am making a last minute proposal due to extenuating circumstances.

**Project Name:** Cancel the Bootstrap Org / Electric Coin Company 2025 Q4 Grant

**Organization:** Bootstrap Org / Electric Coin Company

**Request:** -$2,673,974

**Synopsis:**

In Q4 2025, a [retroactive grant](https://github.com/Financial-Privacy-Foundation/ZcashCoinholderGrantsProgram/issues/2) was approved for Bootstrap Org / Electric Coin Company for their work on Zashi and the Zcash protocol. Since the approval of that grant, the team members on the proposal have left the organization, and all the IP and work product listed for retroactive compensation were sold at a profit of $8m USD.

Given the material changes since the grant was approved, this proposal is to CANCEL the previous grant, which has not been dispersed from the lockbox.

Separately, there is an ongoing dispute about vetoing this grant [[1](https://forum.zcashcommunity.com/t/statement-on-the-bootstrap-ecc-q4-2025-retroactive-grant/54988), [2](https://forum.zcashcommunity.com/t/q4-2025-retroactive-grant-disbursement-and-governance-integrity/54989)]. Regardless of the veto process, coin holders may want to vote to cancel this grant as well.
