Isn’t it taking a lot longer to get 100 confirmation in z9 than it did in z8? It looks like about 6 hours instead of 30 minutes(?)

The expected time for 100 confirmations is 250 minutes, i.e. a little more than 4 hours. If it was previously taking 30m then that was a problem with the difficulty adjustment. I don’t think there were any explicit fixes to difficulty adjustment from z8 to z9, but the z8 testnet was having a major problem with connections ( [Decrease MAX\_HEADERS\_RESULTS · Issue #1289 · zcash/zcash · GitHub](https://github.com/zcash/zcash/issues/1289) ) so I would not be surprised if there were too few miners for the difficulty to be stable.

This is what difficulty supposed to be. You can’t expect 100 blocks in 30 minutes when 1.0 launched because it would be classified as instamine. I believe blocks was mined much faster in previous alpha versions for testing purpose.
