What are you Watching?

Until El Camino launches you can get your Bryan Cranston fix here.
He isnt the main actor but he does an excelent job at playing the main bad guy in season one.

This past Saturday morning I was flipping through the channels and on one of the PBS stations they air an Asian news broadcast, seems to be primarily Japanese I can’t think of it off the top of my head but it was a little documentary about Miyazaki I didn’t have time to watch it all but he was in a theater watching his film and had to get up and walk out and go smoke a cigarette on the couch right outside the door for a minute because he was going to cry, I wanted to watch it

Found it and its a series

 The Martian (yet again)

Is that the one with Jeff Daniels and Christopher Lloyd as the alien? That ones hilarious!

Nope
its the one where they leave Matt Damon on Mars.

They tried leaving him on another planet before (Interstellar), seems to be a theme

Edit: My quad-yagui has become a dual, managed to get hold of a Teltonika HSUPA router (has MIMO)

I think I saw the preview for that then, I remember lunar rover Moon chase with guns maybe that’s a different one I don’t know I don’t watch movies anymore!
(The antenna is complete, will report back!)

I’ve only seen The Martian once, but I remember it being a pretty good movie

My fiancĂ© and I are watching the second season of Derry Girls. It’s so good! I’m gonna be really sad if this show jumps the shark anytime soon.

I rewatched The Wire

it’s still really good

So that one was called “My Favorite Martian”
The antenna seems to work good, the devil is in the details with me software however, Im still figuring out all the settings
From what I can tell my lowest signal is 23.2 Mhz and the highest discernable signal I can find is at 952.2 Mhz, theres patches where the floor noise comes up in between but most of it is clean
In direct sampling it gets medium wave (AM) really strong 500khz - 1.6mhz and up (2.4Mhz to 1.7Ghz are the limits for quadratic sampling which is default, direct is needed for betwewn 500-2.4 and 1.7Ghz-2.8Ghz)

Eagle Eye

Updated version of The Fourbin Project (sort of) - nutty computer trying to take over by snooping on everyone & forcing people to cooperate with its evil plan.

I think I saw that one! Spoiler: They have to smash out it’s oversized (crane mounted I believe) eye at the end!

Yep - the world was saved by the chick from ‘Men In Black’ poking it with a crowbar.

Can’t think of the last time I saw a crowbar in a data centre.

“Toy Story 2”, because it can’t always be ‘end of the world’, hacking, fast cars & explosions.

I saw the commercial for that one I was talking about with the moon rover hi speed chase shootout (like Dukes of Hazzard meets Apollo 13!), that ones called “Ad Astra”, I may never watch it but that’s what it is!

So
if BTC holders are ‘hodlers’, ZEC holders are ‘zodlers’, that means YEC holders are ‘yodelers’ ?

Yodelers? Thinking of the Austrian Alps, liederhosen and music so awful its mentioned in the Geneva Convention, which brings me to tonights movie selection

Mars Attacks

(spolier - Its one of those movies that’s so bad its great, and the world is saved by ‘yodelers’)

Classic! 20 characters (Joe Don Baker is in that one! :joy:)

NOAA 15 is coming on later today, it’ll be the first go with a new smaller antenna and software but its a good trajectory hehe, fingers crossed

Tip, change “default” ground station to “not Denmark”! Going to be about 4 more orbits LOL!

Got rained out, another chance today in 5 hours and 50 minutes

Oh boy! NOAA 15 was awesome! Caught it at about 7:30 pm (1.5 hours ago now)
Used this antenna which is the dipole that comes with the RTL SDR combo, the V is bent to 120 degrees, the antennas are 52 cm long and suspended 1 m above a grounding plane (sorry its dark) which is about 46 cm above earth ground (AOS 166°S, LOS 346°N, E0°)

The RF grounding plane is just a static piece of conductive metal that acts as a reflector which I think was key
And for my very first time I think it turned out pretty effing awesome! My other camera is in space! :artificial_satellite:

Ok Ive got the settings down pat, the software is really friendly so this will be the last one Ill post here (of this type, still lots to play around with, I dont wanna shill the little rtl sdr combo deal but yeah its worth it)
