Don’t forget the extensive history of discussions regarding ZSAs, some of which get lost because it happened when they were called UDAs (user defined assets)

> Zcash should build user defined assets (UDAs). UDAs let us offer private stable coins, let other developers build on zcash and become engaged (e.g offering say privacy wrapped ERC20s), and bring us more users, cover traffic, and privacy. Imagine how useful a privacy wrapped version of tether would be? But a question keeps coming up about UDAs: how do we charge fees for UDAs? The basic answer, which is more than good enough for V1, is just like we do for shielded zec: you pay a public zec denomi…

Since Zcashs core value proposition is privacy then the stronger the privacy Zcash provides, the more valuable Zcash is to all users. The second part, which is what I think you are getting at, is how do we make sure “ZEC the coin” itself is part of the value proposition of Zcashs UDAs? A couple ideas: What about mint/spend/transaction fees that must be paid in Zcash? Similar to how E…

> Exactly, Ethereum does just fine with the “we think this is the best approach” and closely monitors how it works out. If something is skewing unexpectedly, then they push a patch/update. It’s literally impossible to know what things people will build with ZSAs and how they will be used. Did Ethereum 1.0 have Bored ape club NFTs in mind back in 2015? No. We need to stop thinking like ZSA 1.0 release are going to be the perfect economic solution, they are not. We do need to do the homework and …
