I am always ready but i am concerned about how much data it needs in a month. Unlimited plans here cost almost 100 USD here. But i would like to know more about it.
Just an FYI for those interested in participating, from @Autotunafish (emphasis mine)
Itās running a publicly accessible lightwalletd server, which requires running a fullnode as well. Youāll probably at least learn a little bit about network. Running a node and a local server is easy and recommended bc you dont broadcast as much when the wallet, node and lwd server are on the same box or network vs public, mucho privacy. But, the majority of the public use public servers obviously and they are kind of in a prickly spot wrt to said concerns about collecting user data. Maybe this will boost interest in running these things locally (theres a zebra docker with it built in alongside) and thinking about future improvements which would probably go into zeino, really.
Also, the current size of the Zcash Blockchain is around 270 GB
Just because someone dropped a address here showing interest in the workshop doesnāt mean all 20 will follow through with the full setup/hardware/network requirements and achieve 99% uptime.
Perhaps the workshop explaining how it works first can be open to more people , then see how many can really commit to the long haul.
I would like to join.

I am absolutely good for this. Have available server to dedicate to this now. Right inline with our mission and goals. Open up the space and letās work toward expanding the capacity even if weāre not one of the 20 to get reimbursed.
The main issues I see with this will be hosting a publicly accessible server. Generating your own SSL certs isnāt too hard and you could potentially host this all locally but many peopleās routers live behind a NAT mask which would make connecting at all somewhat difficult (plus firewall and router port forwarding settings) and partly why main LWD hosts use some cloud service (plus, their cloud business models hinge on serving data with consistent uptime, and usually for a good price). A method or ability to reliably connect to an IP behind said NAT will determine the overall feasibility of the venture.
Like I mention in the post Shawn linked, running zebra+LWD locally and serving a local wallet is easy-peasy (Iām running it on this box right now mining testnet, fun), but whether or not I could even expose the LWD server to all of you from inside my house without using some kind of connection-service is another story.
