>
> \### Project Summary
>
> As the Zcash Turkey team, we aim to increase Zcash’s visibility, drive direct user engagement, and accelerate new user onboarding through a dedicated booth and on-site activities at Istanbul Blockchain Week.
>
> \### Project Description
>
> As the Zcash Turkey team, we are planning a comprehensive on-site activation at Istanbul Blockchain Week to increase Zcash’s visibility in Turkey, accelerate user acquisition, and establish strong connections within the local Web3 ecosystem. Given that Turkey ranks among the top countries in global crypto adoption, this event represents a strategic growth opportunity for Zcash.
>
> Within the scope of the project, the booth to be set up at the event venue will serve as a central interaction hub for Zcash. Our 8-person team will operate in a coordinated manner over two days, engaging directly with attendees, ներկայաց explaining Zcash’s privacy-focused solutions, and facilitating hands-on onboarding processes.
>
> Key planned activities include:
>
> Live broadcasts in both Turkish and English to ensure global reach
> Conducting interviews with project teams, influencers, and participants
> Providing one-on-one support for Zcash wallet setup and active usage
> Holding business development meetings with Web3 projects and wallet providers
> Running on-site educational and awareness initiatives for the community
> Increasing engagement through Zcash-branded promotional items
>
> The project aims to create a lasting impact not only during the event but also beyond it. All content produced will be distributed عبر social media and digital channels, strengthening Zcash’s position in Turkey while building stronger ties with the global community.
>
> In line with our objectives, we aim to achieve:
>
> At least 1,000 user interactions
> 50+ interviews
> 250 wallet setups
>
> Overall, this project represents a strategic investment that supports both short-term visibility and long-term community growth for Zcash.
>
> \### Proposed Problem
>
> Although Zcash holds a strong position among privacy-focused technologies, it is still not widely recognized by broader audiences and is often only superficially understood—even in high crypto adoption markets like Turkey. The technology is ready and the tools are accessible; however, there is a lack of effective communication and hands-on experience, especially for new users and local Web3 communities.
>
>
> \### Proposed Solution
>
> This project aims to address Zcash’s awareness and adoption challenges in Turkey through a hands-on, field-based engagement approach focused on direct interaction and practical experience. The booth to be set up at Istanbul Blockchain Week will serve as a central touchpoint and experiential hub for Zcash.
>
> • \*\*Direct engagement and hands-on onboarding:\*\*
> During the event, visitors will receive one-on-one support for setting up Zcash wallets and will be able to complete their first transactions instantly. This approach replaces theoretical explanations with real user experience, significantly accelerating adoption.
>
> • \*\*Strong on-site presence and brand visibility:\*\*
> The booth will enhance Zcash’s visibility within the event space, while continuous content production (interviews and social media posts) throughout the event will ensure both physical and digital reach. This allows Zcash to engage not only with on-site attendees but also with a wider online audience.
>
>
> \### Solution Format
>
> This project is not a software or theoretical deliverable, but rather an event-based, field-implemented community growth and user acquisition program.
>
> The core format of the solution will be built around a physical Zcash booth at Istanbul Blockchain Week. This booth will serve both as an engagement hub and as an onboarding and content production center for Zcash.
>
> Key deliverables include:
>
> User interactions and onboarding processes conducted during the event (wallet setup and first-use experiences)
> Interviews conducted at the booth (with project teams, developers, influencers, and attendees)
> Turkish and English interviews and digital content production
> Video, photo, and short-form content created for social media channels
> Post-event metrics report (number of interactions, interviews, and wallet onboardings)
> List of potential partnerships and connections established with Web3 projects and wallet providers
> Feedback and observational report supporting community growth insights
>
> This format represents an applied field operations model that aims to generate measurable outcomes while also supporting sustainable community growth and increasing Zcash’s visibility in Turkey.
>
> \### Dependencies
>
> This project requires several operational and ecosystem-based resources and collaborations to be successfully executed:
>
> Event access and booth space: Official participation and allocation of a booth area at Istanbul Blockchain Week
> 8-person field team: An operational team responsible for onboarding, interviews, content production, and community engagement throughout the event
> Promotional materials: Physical assets such as branded giveaways and marketing materials to increase Zcash visibility and user engagement
> Team accommodation, transportation, and meals: Logistical support to ensure uninterrupted execution of operations during the event
>
> \### Technical Approach
>
> st year, we gained significant experience at the events we attended, and despite not having an official booth, we successfully conducted numerous interviews and wallet setups. This year, we are taking a more professional and organized approach.
>
> Our eight-person team will operate in a coordinated structure, supported by branded Zcash T-shirts, a dedicated booth space, and promotional materials. The team will be divided into specialized units such as an interview team, a reception team, and a photo/video content team. This structure will ensure both active and effective Zcash promotion on the ground, as well as a fast and consistent content flow across social media.
>
> With this setup, we aim to maximize both physical engagement and digital visibility simultaneously throughout the event.

>
> 1. Booth Space – $8,400
>
> A dedicated booth is essential for ensuring Zcash has a central presence at the event. The booth will serve as the main operational hub for user engagement, onboarding, and content production.
>
> 2. 8-Person Field Team – $2,600
>
> The event runs daily from 10:00 AM to 7:00 PM.
> The 8-person team will operate actively for approximately 8 hours per day over 2 days.
>
> Hourly model:
>
> Hourly rate: $20
> Total work: 8 people × 2 days × ~8 hours
> Total cost: $2,600
>
> This team will operate in a coordinated structure handling onboarding, interviews, guest engagement, and content production to maximize on-site efficiency and impact.
>
> 3. Accommodation – $800
>
> A standard hotel located approximately 20 minutes from the venue has been selected. High-end hotels in the area were found to be significantly expensive, so a more cost-efficient and sustainable alternative was chosen.
>
> The originally considered premium hotel quoted a total of €1,859 for 8 people in 4 rooms (2 people per room) for 2 nights. However, this was deemed excessively high due to its premium location and pricing.
>
> Therefore, a more affordable option was selected:
>
> Double room: $100 per night
> 4 rooms × 2 nights = $800 total
>
> This ensures comfortable accommodation while maintaining budget efficiency.
>
> 4. Transportation – $800
>
> This covers round-trip transportation for the 8-person team from Yalova to Istanbul using 2 vehicles, including ferry costs, fuel, and local transportation expenses.
>
> 5. Food & Daily Expenses – $750
>
> These are basic operational costs required to maintain team performance during the intensive event schedule.
>
> 6. Promotional Materials (T-shirts, merch, brochures, etc.) – $1,300
>
> Promotional materials include:
>
> 50 Zcash-branded T-shirts
> 100 Zcash-branded keychains
> 30 Zcash-branded thermoses
>
> These items are used to enhance user engagement, incentivize onboarding, and strengthen brand visibility.
>
> A total of $1,250 worth of ZEC (at current market rates) will be required to distribute approximately $5 worth of ZEC to each of 250 users.
>
> All reward distributions will be verified through transaction records (TX hashes) and will also be documented with photo and video evidence to ensure full transparency.
>
> In addition, download statistics from the Zodl team may be requested, and app performance/visibility metrics can be tracked through the Turkey App Store and Google Play Store during the event period (June 2–3).

**Many projects are renting stands, and the number of available stands is limited. We aim to participate in this event and are confident that we will deliver a successful execution.**

**As the Zcash Turkey team, we are planning to actively participate in Istanbul Blockchain Week this year in order to increase the adoption of privacy-focused crypto solutions in Turkey and to further grow the Zcash ecosystem.**

Istanbul Blockchain Week is one of the most important Web3 events in the region, bringing together thousands of participants each year, including leading projects, developers, and investors. Considering that Turkey ranks highly in global crypto adoption, this event presents a strategic opportunity for Zcash in terms of growth, visibility, and community expansion.

Last year, we participated in the event and carried out active on-the-ground efforts. You can access the detailed report of our activities via the following link:

> [@Istanbul Blockchain Week Report (Turkiye)](https://forum.zcashcommunity.com/t/istanbul-blockchain-week-report-turkiye/51568):
>
> Istanbul Blockchain Week Report Hello everyone, We have officially completed our participation in Istanbul Blockchain Week! First of all, we would like to sincerely thank everyone who supported us in attending this important event. Our core mission was simple yet ambitious: to reach more people, establish new connections, and spread awareness about Zcash. After two intense days, we truly believe we achieved our goals. pushpin About the Event The event saw a much higher attendance t…

During our previous participation, we held one-on-one meetings with industry professionals, established connections with various projects and wallet providers, and took significant steps to increase Zcash’s visibility in the region through interviews and content production.

This year, we aim to elevate our participation by executing a more professional, organized, and high-impact activation plan.

As the Zcash Turkey and ZBase teams, we will attend the event with a total of 8 team members. Unlike last year, we aim to establish a central operation and interaction hub by renting a dedicated booth at the event area. Detailed information about the event can be found here:

> **[Istanbul Blockchain Week](https://istanbulblockchainweek.com/)**
>
> Istanbul Blockchain Week stands as a premier annual event, nestled in the vibrant heart of Istanbul — a city that bridges continents and cultures, where cryptocurrency and web3 already play a key part in the lives of its people.

With over 5,000 participants expected over two days, the event will host numerous well-known Web3 project teams, crypto influencers, investors, and industry leaders. This highly concentrated audience presents a significant opportunity for Zcash to engage directly with the right target groups.

**During the event, our 8-person team will operate in a coordinated manner. Through our booth, we plan to carry out the following activities:**

- Live broadcasts in Turkish and English
- Interviews with project teams, influencers, and attendees
- Zcash wallet setup support and onboarding processes
- One-on-one meetings with wallet providers and Web3 projects
- On-site community education and Zcash awareness initiatives
- Promotional activities and giveaways to increase engagement at the booth

We plan to distribute Zcash-branded promotional items (such as thermos bottles, t-shirts, etc.) to visitors and participants who complete wallet setup, aiming to both increase engagement and strengthen brand awareness. We believe that such physical touchpoints provide significant value for user acquisition and long-term community building within an event environment.

### **Booth Costs**

- 2x2 booth cost: €8,000
- Discounted cost: €7,200

 ![7200](https://global.discourse-cdn.com/zcash/original/3X/8/3/839fc27aacbeeb5555415b7980a61e8549a73c04.jpeg)

**Included in the booth package:**

- Logo visibility on the event website
- Inclusion in social media announcements
- Logo placement on the sponsor wall

**Alternatively:**

- 1x1 booth cost: €3,600

 ![3600](https://global.discourse-cdn.com/zcash/original/3X/c/f/cfc4348c4104824d021c08126bf3f7c67da2ff4f.jpeg)

At this point, we would like to seek community feedback by considering two different options:

- Proceeding with a single (2x2) booth focused solely on Zcash
- Renting two separate 1x1 booths to promote both Zcash and Zodl projects together

Our team is ready to build on last year’s experience and execute a more professional booth organization to make the most efficient use of this year’s event.

Additionally, if this proposal is approved, we would be pleased to host the Zk AvClub team in Turkey during the event, subject to their availability, and support them in setting up a registration station at the event area.

The hotel where the event will be held:
Hilton Istanbul Bomonti Hotel & Conference Center

[Silahsor Cad. No 42 Bomonti-Sisli, Istanbul, 34381, Türkiye](https://www.google.com/maps/search/?api=1&query=Hilton+Istanbul+Bomonti+Hotel+%26+Conference+Center%2C+Silahsor+Cad.+No++42+Istanbul+TR)

The total cost of the event consists of the following items:

- Accommodation
- Transportation
- Working hours / operational team expenses
- Printing costs for items such as t-shirts, cups, and thermoses
- Event brochures
- Roll-ups

Including all these details along with the stand cost, the total budget is approximately **$15,000 USD**.

**Targets:**

- At least **1,000 user interactions**
- **50+ interviews**
- **250 wallet setups**

**This proposal is not yet an official offer. After gathering feedback from the community, it will be developed into a formal proposal. We kindly request ZCG and other community members to share their thoughts and opinions on this matter.**

**Many projects are renting stands, and the number of available stands is limited. We aim to participate in this event and are confident that we will deliver a successful execution.**

It would be cool to see how you iterate on last year’s activities at Istanbul Blockchain Week. This proposal looks nice but there are a few things that I want to know more about or flag:

1. Are you planning to do all of this in a 2x2 space?

2. Live broadcasts in Turkish and English

- I highly recommend not attempting to livestream from an event venue during a conference without prior arrangements being made with the event organizer and the venue for a dedicated internet connection. Promising to do live broadcasts will most likely add a lot of stress that you don’t need and don’t want to bring into that environment. Use your energy and attention to have good conversations and make good recordings, instead of fighting to make the livestream work. It’s really not worth it.

1. 50+ interviews

- This seems like way too much to do in 2 days. Are you scheduling interviews ahead of time or are you expecting these to all be walk-ups?

1. Do you have plans for protecting privacy and handling consent with regard to conference attendees, including any who may appear in the background of your videos? Does Istanbul Blockchain Week have a code of conduct or photo/video policy?

2. Will anyone on your team attend other events or only the one with the booth?

- I see a few on the website. The [Blockdown Festival](https://istanbulblockchainweek.com/blockdown-festival/) looks cool and the [hackathon](https://istanbulblockchainweek.com/istanhack/) could be a great opportunity to speak with some devs.

Overall, @Batuhan, I’m excited to see your proposal and looking forward to reading all about what you and your team do during Istanbul Blockchain Week this year.

Hello Ryan,

Thank you for your feedback…

Last year, we attended the event individually and did not have a dedicated space. Despite this, we had a very active presence and conducted many interviews. However, we were unable to publish some of them because certain participants did not consent to sharing the recordings.

This year, the planned 2x2 meter space will be a dedicated stand for Zcash. The event area is quite large and hosts many participants. At our stand, we will welcome visitors, provide information about Zcash in both Turkish and English, and assist with wallet setup.

Given the long event hours (8–10 hours) and high attendance, there will be thousands of people present. For this reason, a 2-person team will actively move around the venue to conduct interviews about privacy, Zcash, and cryptocurrencies.

**Live Streaming:**
We will finalize the live streaming setup after confirming the internet infrastructure with the event organizers. Streams will take place at our stand, where we will observe visitor engagement and activity. We will also place clear signage stating “Live streaming is taking place here” to prevent any privacy concerns. We believe 2–3 hours of live streaming per day will be sufficient.

**Interviews:**
The interviews will follow a structured format. As we did last year, we will reach out in advance to some of the attendees. Additionally, since we will have a dedicated space this year, once our participation is confirmed, we plan to schedule interviews with more participants.

As mentioned, we will ensure that all activities comply with privacy standards and that proper notifications are provided.

The team will be fully focused on Zcash and will not be involved in any other projects during the event. While we can reduce the team to 6 people, we believe that an 8-person team with clearly defined roles will present a more professional image and create a stronger impact.

**Planned team structure:**

- 2 people: English interviews + camera
- 2 people: Turkish interviews + camera
- 2 people: Stand management (welcoming visitors, providing information, wallet setup)
- 2 people: Flexible roles (networking and engaging with other stands)

We will also participate in the festival and hackathon you mentioned. These two days will be fully focused on the event and execution.

I am aware of your strong experience in event organization, and I will definitely seek your input and guidance throughout the process.

Additionally, I have an idea to increase visitor engagement. In a previous event, the BingX exchange placed a boxing machine at their stand and rewarded participants with high scores. It became one of the most crowded stands at the event. Similarly, I believe we could reach more people by incorporating a small interactive game or activity.

Of course, this is still just an idea. The priority is getting the proposal approved.

Thank you again for your valuable feedback. I look forward to hearing more from you.

Thank you for your thoughtful response. This all sounds super fun.

Can you give me more details about your privacy/consent process? I’m curious how you handle this, hoping we can learn something to apply to our own practices.

Based on our experience last year — especially from the interviews and one-on-one conversations we conducted — we’re approaching privacy and consent much more carefully this time as we establish a dedicated booth.

Even though this is a public event where many photographers and videographers continuously capture footage, we believe it’s important to act in alignment with our project’s values and respect individuals’ personal privacy.

For interviews, our plan is to obtain clear verbal consent **before recording begins**. This consent will not be publicly shared but securely stored by us and made available only if ever required. Before starting, we explicitly inform participants that the interview may be published on Zcash channels. Only after receiving their approval do we proceed, and that approval grants us the right to publish the content.

For live streaming at the booth, we will place clear signage indicating that recording and live broadcasting may take place. This ensures that anyone visiting the booth — whether to participate in an activity or set up a wallet — is aware that they may appear on camera. Additionally, when a live stream is active, we will verbally inform visitors as they approach or engage with us.

Of course, we recognize that some participants may later feel uncomfortable with their interviews. For this reason, we fully respect the right to withdraw. If anyone expresses discomfort at any stage, we will immediately stop recording, delete the content, and ensure their personal data is protected.

Finally, in such crowded environments, we believe it is especially important to avoid capturing individuals unintentionally. During live streams or general footage, we will take care to blur faces when needed and frame shots to include only those who have given consent as much as possible.

Even though the event itself and other participants may freely share photos and videos from the venue, we prioritize acting in accordance with our own standards. This is not only a matter of compliance, but a fundamental reflection of Zcash’s philosophy. We believe privacy extends beyond financial data — it also includes respecting individuals’ identities and their right to remain anonymous unless they choose otherwise.

from my perspective this adds no real value and might actually drive away some real hardcore pricacy people who would otherwise come and talk to you.

better just do some short videos and post those from booth instead so people feel more relaxed coming to the booth.

What matters is working to achieve the best result by gathering feedback.

I truly value your opinion. During and after the event, we will already have at least +50 short interview videos. As for live streams, we can conduct them with our own team during quieter moments, in a way that doesn’t disturb people, to show how the event is progressing overall.

When you look at it logically, yes— as you pointed out, live streaming may make some people feel uneasy.

This has also allowed us to directly observe how important community feedback really is. To be honest, we hadn’t considered this detail during the planning phase.

>
>
>
>
>
>
>
>
>
>
>
>
>
>
>
>
>
>
>
>
>
>
>
>
>
>
>
>
>
>
>

>
>
>
>
>
>
>
>
>
>
>
>
>
>
>
>
>
>
>
>
>
>
>
>

We have published our official proposal for the event. Since the number of booths is limited, receiving feedback—whether positive or negative—as early as possible is critical for us to speed up the process effectively.

We are planning to attend the event with an 8-person team. If required, this number can be reduced to 6. However, our main objective is to operate in a fully professional manner, reach more people, conduct more interviews, and complete more wallet setups in order to make a strong impact at the event.

Additionally, based on the information we have received, local media outlets are also expected to be present at the event. This presents a significant opportunity to further increase the visibility of our project.

We are looking forward to any feedback, positive or negative. We aim to represent our project in the best possible way and create a strong impact at the event.

Hi Ryan,

I just had a meeting with one of the IBW event organizers. We had a productive discussion about the event planning, participant profile, and booth details.

If we participate in the event as the Zcash Türkiye team, we’ve aligned on setting up a registration station for ZK Av Club. It also looks like we may be able to secure a designated area within the venue where we can conduct interviews for ZK Av Club for 2–3 hours each day. They’ll be sharing more details with me soon.

If you can include the Istanbul event (June 2–3) in the ZK Av Club planning, we could collaborate on this together.

Looking forward to your thoughts.

Hi Batuhan,

This sounds like a strong plan, and I appreciate your work to include ZK Av Club. We’re grateful for the opportunity to host a Zk Av Club Recording Station at Istanbul Blockchain Week.

Unfortunately, we cannot make it happen this time, as we do not have the budget or capacity to support it properly.

Let’s stay in touch as the event approaches and afterwards to learn from what you do.

Thanks again for your work on the proposal and what’s to come.

**Hi everyone,**

We would like to share the report of the Istanbul Blockchain Week event. First of all, the two-day process was extremely intense for us and overall very positive. However, we also experienced some disruptions, and we believe it is important to transparently share them.

On the first day of the event, we later learned that transactions were temporarily halted due to a network upgrade. Since we were heavily focused on the event area, we were disconnected from social media for a period of time. We were informed about the situation thanks to ZeroDartz. Following this, significant uncertainty arose regarding the rewards we had planned to distribute.

During this process, various speculations and misinformation began to spread. Many visitors at our stand asked questions such as “Is there a problem?” or “What is going on?”. We actively shared the latest updates on social media from the event area to keep people informed.

Due to the network upgrade, we were unable to proceed with the planned gift transfers to wallets, and as a result, some participants decided not to proceed with wallet installation. Overall, the event was successful for us; however, this situation created a challenging period.

On the positive side, the Zcash stand received significant attention. We directly engaged with a large number of people and achieved a total of 194 wallet installations / QR code registrations. This number could have reached 250; however, due to technical disruptions, we were unable to assist some participants with the setup process. This is not an excuse. We sincerely apologize for this situation.

The promotional materials we prepared for the event were fully exhausted on the first day. We underestimated the level of demand. On the second day, we took immediate initiative and prepared additional materials. We even launched a request for support on X. However, there was an issue with the Orchard pool. Our stand was visited by a large number of attendees, and we conducted numerous interviews. These interviews were held in both Turkish and English and are expected to be published on various channels in the coming days.

In addition, we established connections with many projects and blockchain communities. Various blockchain clubs visited our stand, and we held partnership discussions. We shared resources about the Zcash ecosystem and invited others for potential collaborations.

Throughout the event, we created more than 60 new connections via Telegram. We continue to maintain communication with everyone we met, building an active community network. We aim to see tangible results from these efforts in the near future.

Normally, we would have shared this report earlier; however, due to the speculations and misinformation circulating after the event, we focused on providing accurate information to Turkish crypto media pages and influencers via X.

**Final Evaluation**

Overall, we experienced an event that was both challenging and highly rewarding. First and foremost, we would like to thank the entire community for their support throughout this process. Together with our team, we did our best to deliver the highest possible performance.

All video content produced during the event requires time for editing and production. These materials will be gradually shared across our social media channels once completed.

Due to supply chain constraints and network-related issues, we have not yet been able to fully distribute user rewards. (Rewards will be delivered via ZODL to 194 unique wallet users.) The main reason for this delay is the temporary unavailability of the technical infrastructure required to process these transactions at that time. In addition, the increased demand required us to secure additional product supply.

Communication with the contacts we established via Telegram will continue, and these individuals will be gradually directed to the Zcash Forum. Furthermore, many content creators and influencers visited our stand, and we informed them about opportunities to contribute voluntarily to the ecosystem.

We made a strong effort to include everyone in the ecosystem, and this was clearly visible to all visitors throughout the event. For hours on end, we continuously shared information, answered questions, and actively guided people into the ecosystem.

We hope we have managed to meet and properly honor the trust placed in us.

For those who would like to support the community, we are sharing our donation address below. This was a very intense and at times challenging process. However, despite all difficulties, we approached everything without excuses and believe we ultimately delivered a strong outcome.

@zerodartz Thank you for your support throughout the event. Thanks to your timely updates and guidance, we were able to complete the event with minimal issues.

We have over **300+ photos** in our gallery, and we will be happy to share the remaining images here in the coming days 🙂

First of all, hello everyone.

I am truly happy to have been a part of this event. Over the course of two days, we met hundreds of people, introduced Zcash, answered questions, and built many valuable connections.

The interest shown in our booth exceeded our expectations. Meeting new people, connecting with different communities, and introducing those interested in Zcash to the ecosystem was one of the most rewarding aspects of the event for me.

I would like to thank all of my teammates who worked hard throughout this process, everyone who visited our booth, and our community for their continued support. We still have a long road ahead of us, but this event once again showed me that we are moving in the right direction.

Thank you for everything. 🛡💛

Together, we will continue to grow, reach new people, and share the vision of the Zcash ecosystem.💛
