Greetings to the Zcash community. Over the past months, our work in Nigeria has delivered meaningful impact, and we are pleased to present this proposal as the next phase in our mission to expand Zcash awareness, adoption, and community engagement across the country.

Zcash Nigeria has grown rapidly from a community of about 300 members to a vibrant network of more than 1,000 followers on X, with significant growth across Telegram, TikTok, Substack, YouTube, and other platforms. This momentum reflects the strong local interest in privacy-preserving financial tools and the recognition of Zcash as a practical, empowering solution for everyday users.

This proposal outlines a comprehensive, year-long program for 2026 focused on deepening education, strengthening community participation, and driving real-world adoption of Zcash across Nigeria’s diverse regions.

Zcash Nigeria is the leading community in Africa and has demonstrated a strong local presence. Many other communities and ambassadors on this continent have taken inspiration from their community-building efforts, with the aim of offering different local communities the opportunity to learn about the benefits of financial privacy with Zcash.

Nigeria is a key epicenter of the crypto sector in Africa, and it would be great to continue seeing the Zcash Nigeria team building community in 2026.

## Zcash Nigeria – Monthly Activity Report

Reporting period : 1st January - 31st January 2026

## Overview

January 2026 was an active and productive month for Zcash Nigeria, focused on community education, contributor participation, localized outreach, and preparation for offline engagement. Our efforts during the month emphasized making Zcash more understandable, accessible, and visible to both existing community members and new audiences across Nigeria.

Through a mix of content creation, interactive community activities, localization efforts, and contributor-driven initiatives, Zcash Nigeria continued to strengthen its role as a leading hub for Zcash education and adoption in the region.

### Zcash Crypto Street Talk (Street Content Videos)

To reach audiences beyond typical crypto circles, we created street-style video content branded as “Zcash Crypto Street Talk.”  
These videos involved engaging everyday people in simple conversations about:

### Overview

February 2026 marked another active month for Zcash Nigeria, focused on strengthening grassroots adoption, expanding community education, and deepening engagement across both online and offline channels. Our activities combined digital education, physical community outreach, localized language inclusion, and ecosystem awareness campaigns aimed at increasing understanding and real-world adoption of Zcash in Nigeria.

Through consistent content creation, community programs, and in-person engagement, Zcash Nigeria continued advancing its mission of promoting financial privacy awareness and practical Zcash usage across diverse audiences including students, creators, and everyday crypto users.

## Upcoming University of Ibadan Meetup (March 2026)

Building on the success of the Ibadan meetup, preparations are underway for a March 2026 campus event at the University of Ibadan.

The upcoming event aims to:

## FUNAAB Onboarding conference (Upcoming Collaboration)

Zcash Nigeria is partnering to host an Onboarding Summit at the Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta (FUNAAB), Ogun State with Web3 FUNAAB.

May 2026 was another productive month for Zcash Nigeria as we continued our efforts to educate, onboard, and grow the Zcash community across Nigeria. Through content creation, community engagement initiatives, educational events, translations, and contributor-driven activities, we maintained consistent momentum toward increasing awareness and adoption of Zcash and digital privacy solutions.

## Conclusion

May 2026 was marked by strong community engagement, successful regional outreach, continued educational efforts, and meaningful onboarding results. ## Overview

June was another productive month for Zcash Nigeria as we continued executing initiatives focused on education, community growth, merchant adoption, and ecosystem participation. Our activities centered on expanding awareness of Zcash, encouraging hands-on use of shielded transactions, onboarding new users, and leveraging the launch of ZecFiat to accelerate onboarding of businesses to accept zcash .

## ZEC Trivia Challenge

A major highlight of the month was our Zec Trivia Challenge, an interactive campaign designed to encourage practical engagement with Zcash rather than passive participation.

Participants completed a variety of activities throughout the challenge including, but not limited to

- Introducing new users to Zcash.

- Identifying businesses that could potentially accept Zcash payments.

- Creating original tweets and memes about Zcash.

- Downloading and setting up Zcash wallets.

- Completing shielded transaction challenges.

- Taking photos featuring Zcash in recognizable or iconic locations.

- Participating in educational quizzes and community discussions.

The campaign successfully increased community engagement while encouraging participants to gain first-hand experience using Zcash and its privacy features.

## Educational Video Content

To improve user onboarding and wallet usability, we produced an educational video demonstrating newly introduced currency conversion features in the ZODL Wallet. The tutorial highlighted the ability for users to view their ZEC balances in their local fiat currency, helping make the wallet more intuitive for everyday users.

## Merchant Adoption Initiative

Following the launch of[ZecFiat](https://www.zecfiat.com/) by [Obscura Labs](https://www.obscuralabs.org/) which enables users and businesses to seamlessly convert between ZEC and local fiat currency, we intensified our business outreach efforts.

Historically, fiat on-ramp and off-ramp limitations have represented one of the primary barriers to merchant adoption. With this challenge now significantly reduced, our outreach has shifted toward educating businesses about the practical benefits of accepting zec as a form of payments for goods and services and easily converting it to local currency.

We are currently engaging prospective busineses and merchants and expect to onboard new businesses in the near future as these discussions progress.

## Looking Ahead

During July, we will continue to work on expanding merchant adoption efforts, growing wallet usage, onboarding additional businesses, producing more educational content, and continuing community engagement through meetups, localized content, and interactive educational campaigns.

We are also committed to strengthening our presence in Northern Nigeria, where we continue to make meaningful progress in expanding awareness and adoption of Zcash. As part of these efforts, we are currently planning a community meetup at **Bayero University** kano, which will introduce more students and technology enthusiasts to the Zcash ecosystem while further extending our reach into the region.

Building on our previous outreach efforts in Northern Nigeria, Zcash Nigeria successfully hosted a meetup at **Bayero University Kano (BUK)**.

The event brought together students, blockchain enthusiasts, developers, and privacy advocates to learn about Zcash, financial privacy, and the importance of shielded transactions. Participants were introduced to the Zcash ecosystem, explored available wallets and tools, and engaged in discussions on the role of privacy-preserving digital payments.

## **Virtual meetup Community X Spaces**

To complement our physical outreach, a virtual meetup was also held on **X Space**. It provided members with an opportunity to discuss developments across the Zcash ecosystem, ask questions, and engage in conversations around privacy, adoption, and ecosystem growth.

## **Africa Community Collaboration**

During July, Zcash Nigeria coordinated and participated in a collaborative **X Spaces** event alongside other Africa-based Zcash communities.

The discussion focused on promoting greater collaboration between African communities, sharing local experiences, discussing adoption strategies, and identifying opportunities to collectively grow awareness and usage of Zcash across the continent.

Cross-community initiatives like these continue to strengthen relationships within the African Zcash ecosystem while encouraging knowledge sharing and regional cooperation.

## **Merchant Adoption**

Merchant adoption continues to be a major priority for Zcash Nigeria.

Throughout the month, we continued engaging businesses and discussing opportunities to begin accepting Zcash as a payment option. These conversations are helping build relationships with potential merchants while laying the foundation for increased real-world utility of Zcash within Nigeria.

**Looking Ahead**

August promises to be another exciting month for Zcash Nigeria.

A major focus will be planning and preparing for the **first-ever Zcash Nigeria Hackathon**. This initiative aims to bring together developers, designers, students, and blockchain enthusiasts to build innovative tools and applications that contribute to the growth of the Zcash ecosystem while encouraging technical participation from the Nigerian developer community.

Alongside hackathon preparations, we will continue our educational campaigns, community engagement activities, merchant adoption efforts, translation initiatives, and collaborations with Zcash communities across Africa.

**Conclusion**

July marked another month of meaningful progress for Zcash Nigeria. From strengthening our presence in Northern Nigeria through the Bayero University Kano meetup to fostering collaboration across African Zcash communities, encouraging community-generated educational content, expanding language accessibility through translations, and continuing merchant outreach, we remained focused on building a stronger and more inclusive Zcash ecosystem.

As we move into August, we look forward to expanding these efforts further while preparing for the first-ever Zcash Nigeria Hackathon,an important milestone that reflects our commitment to growing both adoption and developer participation within the Zcash ecosystem.

## Zcash Nigeria Monthly Report — August 2026

Reporting period: 1st August - 31st August 2026

## Overview

August was another active month for Zcash Nigeria as we continued our efforts around education, community engagement, localization, ecosystem participation, and real-world adoption.

One of the most encouraging developments during the month was seeing our continued business outreach begin to produce tangible results. Four businesses were successfully onboarded to begin accepting ZEC as a means of payment for goods and services.

We also participated in Web3 Lagos, hosted a community X Space, continued our weekly quiz and Yoruba translations, received community article contributions, produced educational content, and progressed discussions and preparations for the first-ever Zcash Nigeria Hackathon.

## Business Outreach and Merchant Onboarding

Our business outreach efforts continued during August, with the team following up on previous conversations while also approaching new businesses about accepting ZEC.

These efforts resulted in four businesses being successfully onboarded to accept ZEC payments for their goods and services

This represents an important development in our adoption efforts. While education and awareness remain important, we also want members of the community to have practical opportunities to use ZEC.

The onboarding of these businesses provides additional real-world use cases for ZEC and gives us a foundation to expand merchant adoption further.

We will continue engaging the onboarded businesses, supporting them where necessary, creating awareness around their acceptance of ZEC, and reaching out to more potential merchants.

## Web3 Lagos Conference

The Zcash Nigeria team participated in the Web3 Lagos Conference, one of the major Web3 gatherings in Nigeria. Zcash was also a sponsor of the event.

Our participation provided an opportunity to interact directly with developers, Web3 enthusiasts, community members, and people who were encountering Zcash for the first time.

The team introduced attendees to Zcash, discussed its technology and use cases, helped interested participants get onboarded, and sent some attendees their **first ZEC**.

Giving participants the opportunity to receive ZEC provided a more practical introduction and allowed them to experience using Zcash rather than only hearing about it.

The conference also gave us an opportunity to increase Zcash’s visibility within the wider Nigerian Web3 ecosystem and connect with individuals who may become users, contributors, or builders within the ecosystem.

## Zcash Street Talk

During August, we took Zcash conversations beyond online communities and Web3 events through our **Zcash Street Talk** initiative.

The team went out to interact directly with random, everyday people, engaging them in simple conversations about Zcash, cryptocurrency, financial privacy, and their general understanding of digital money.

The goal was to hear directly from people outside the typical crypto community, understand their perceptions and level of awareness, answer questions, and introduce Zcash in a simple and relatable way.

These interactions also gave us useful insight into some of the questions, misconceptions, and knowledge gaps that still exist among everyday people when it comes to cryptocurrency and privacy.

Zcash Street Talk provides another approach to grassroots education by taking the conversation directly to people rather than waiting for them to attend a meetup or discover our online channels. We intend to continue using initiatives like this to make Zcash education more accessible and connect with audiences beyond the existing Web3 ecosystem.

## Community X Space — “Let’s Grow: Chill with Zcash"

During August, we hosted an X Space titled “Let’s Grow: Chill with Zcash.”

The session was designed as a relaxed community conversation where participants could interact, discuss Zcash, ask questions, share ideas, and connect with other members of the community.

The Space formed part of our continued effort to create opportunities for interaction and strengthen relationships within the Nigerian Zcash community.

## Yoruba Translation

Our localization activities also continued during August.

Zcash-related educational and informational content was translated into Yoruba for members of the Yoruba-speaking community.

Nigeria is linguistically diverse, and making Zcash information available in local languages remains part of our effort to make Zcash education more accessible to a wider audience.

## First Zcash Nigeria Hackathon — Preparations

We continued discussions and preparations toward organizing the first-ever Zcash Nigeria Hackathon

The proposed Hackathon represents an important next step in our efforts to expand beyond education and awareness into developer participation and ecosystem building.

Our objective is to create an opportunity for Nigerian developers and technically skilled participants to learn more about Zcash technology, experiment with available developer tools, and explore ideas and applications that could contribute to the ecosystem.

Building on the progress recorded in August, our activities in September will focus on strengthening existing programs while expanding our adoption efforts.

We plan to:

- Continue reaching out to businesses and increase the number of merchants accepting ZEC.

- Support and promote businesses that have already started accepting ZEC.

- Continue creating educational and engaging Zcash content.

- Continue our weekly community quiz.

- Continue encouraging community article contributions.

- Continue Yoruba translation and localization activities.

- Organize additional community engagement activities and discussions.

- Progress planning and preparations for the first Zcash Nigeria Hackathon.

- Continue identifying opportunities to introduce new users, developers, businesses, and communities to Zcash.

## Conclusion

August was particularly encouraging because some of our sustained outreach efforts began translating into measurable real-world adoption.

The onboarding of **four businesses accepting ZEC** represents progress toward creating practical opportunities for people to use ZEC in Nigeria. Our participation at Web3 Lagos also enabled us to introduce Zcash directly to new users and give some participants their first experience receiving ZEC.

At the same time, we maintained the recurring activities that support the community, including education, content creation, weekly quizzes, translations, community contributions, and online engagement.

As we move into September, we intend to build on this progress, expand merchant adoption, maintain consistent community activities, and continue preparations toward the **first-ever Zcash Nigeria Hackathon**.

Our focus remains on growing a knowledgeable and active Zcash community in Nigeria while steadily increasing opportunities for people to learn about Zcash, use ZEC in the real world, and participate in building within the ecosystem.

# **Zcash Nigeria Monthly Report — September 2026**

Reporting period 1st September - 30th September 2026

## Overview

September was a busy and productive month for Zcash Nigeria, with activities focused on expanding real-world adoption of ZEC, growing awareness in new communities, strengthening direct engagement with community members, and continuing our educational and localization efforts.

A major focus during the month was moving beyond awareness toward practical adoption. This resulted in the successful onboarding of six businesses to accept ZEC as a means of payment, alongside a physical community meetup in Jigawa State, Northern Nigeria, where more than 50 people participated and new users were introduced to Zcash.

Alongside these adoption initiatives, Zcash Nigeria continued its regular educational content, Yoruba localization, community quizzes, live AMA sessions, and video production.

## **Real-World ZEC Adoption — Six Businesses Onboarded**

One of the most significant achievements in September was the successful onboarding of six businesses to accept ZEC as a payment option for their goods and services.

This represents an important part of Zcash Nigeria’s efforts to move ZEC awareness beyond online conversations and encourage practical, everyday usage.

Our engagement with businesses focused on introducing merchants to Zcash, explaining how ZEC payments work, assisting them with wallet setup where necessary, and helping them understand how they can receive payments from customers.

All six businesses were also successfully listed on Zecmap waiting to be added, this will increase their visibility making it easier for ZEC users to identify businesses where they can spend ZEC.

We consider merchant adoption an important long-term initiative because every participating business creates another potential point of real economic activity for ZEC in Nigeria.

## **Zcash Nigeria Meetup — Jigawa State**

During September, Zcash Nigeria expanded its physical community outreach to **Jigawa State in Northern Nigeria** , organizing a meetup that attracted **more than 50 participants**.

The event provided an opportunity to introduce participants to Zcash, discuss the importance of financial privacy, explain the Zcash ecosystem, and demonstrate how individuals can begin using ZEC.

A particularly important aspect of the meetup was practical onboarding. Participants were assisted in downloading and setting up Zcash-compatible wallets, giving them the opportunity to move from simply learning about Zcash to becoming actual users.

Expanding our activities into Jigawa State also supports our broader objective of taking Zcash education and adoption beyond Nigeria’s major technology hubs and reaching communities across different regions of the country.

## **Three Community AMA Sessions**

Zcash Nigeria organized **three AMA (Ask Me Anything) sessions** during September.

These sessions provided an opportunity for direct, live interaction with members of the community. Participants were able to ask questions, discuss developments within the Zcash ecosystem, and gain a better understanding of Zcash and the activities of Zcash Nigeria.

The AMA format remains valuable because it creates a two-way conversation rather than relying solely on one-directional educational content. It also helps us understand the questions, concerns, and areas of interest within the local community.

## **Educational Video Content**

We continued to strengthen our educational content efforts by producing **four educational videos** during September.

The videos were designed to make information about Zcash easier to understand and more accessible to both existing community members and people encountering Zcash for the first time.

Video content remains an important part of our education strategy because it allows complex concepts to be communicated in a simpler and more engaging format while also creating reusable resources that can continue reaching audiences beyond the month in which they were produced.

## **Yoruba Translation and Localization**

Our localization efforts for the Yoruba-speaking community continued throughout September.

Zcash Nigeria translated relevant educational and ecosystem information into Yoruba, helping make Zcash information accessible to community members who may prefer consuming information in their local language.

Localization remains an important part of our approach in Nigeria because of the country’s linguistic diversity. Providing Zcash information in Nigerian languages can help reduce barriers to understanding and allow Zcash education to reach audiences beyond predominantly English-speaking cryptocurrency communities.

The quizzes provide an interactive way for community members to test and improve their understanding of Zcash while encouraging consistent participation within the community.

## **September Impact Summary**

September demonstrated continued progress across both **real-world adoption and community development**.

The onboarding of six businesses accepting ZEC was particularly significant because it increased the number of locations where ZEC can potentially be used for real transactions. Listing these businesses on Zecmap also makes this adoption visible and discoverable to the wider Zcash community.

At the same time, the Jigawa State meetup with more than 50 attendees expanded our outreach further into Northern Nigeria and resulted in new users being introduced and practically onboarded to Zcash.

Combined with three AMA sessions, four educational videos, Yoruba translations, weekly quizzes, and consistent social media education, these activities allowed Zcash Nigeria to work across several important areas simultaneously: adoption, onboarding, education, localization, and community engagement.
