After the Sept 15th kickoff reward, we’ve paid 36 ZEC. Our current balance for monthly rewards is 514 ZEC, to be distributed across the six monthly payouts. (we’re paying the transaction fees to keep accounting simple)
Monthly budget: 85.66666667 ZEC (514 ÷ 6)
Winners per month: Top 25 servers according to the requirements above.
Per winning server: 3.42666667 ZEC (85.66666667 ÷ 25)
During some months there may be less than 25 servers running. We will use any remaining budget at the end to extend the rewards beyond the initial six months, with the future reward amount to be determined.
And whoa, that ZEC price action!
I hope that operators use some of their windfall to keep servers running way past our reward timeline or to upgrade them to support Zcash’s increased user base. We may not always be able to provide such generous rewards, but Zcash’s need for decentralized infrastructure won’t go away.
