> \### Project Summary
>
> The Zcash team will participate in the \*\*RLAY Hub\*\* event, which will take place in Türkiye from \*\*August 15–22, 2026\*\*. During the first three days of the event, the team will actively engage with attendees by delivering a \*\*presentation about Zcash\*\*, hosting a \*\*prize-based hackathon\*\*, and organizing \*\*community activities\*\*.
>
>
> \### Project Description
>
> Rlay Blockchain Week 2026 is a blockchain education and developer event that brings together university students, software developers, entrepreneurs, and Web3 enthusiasts for an intensive week of technical learning and collaboration. As an Event Sponsor, Zcash will have the opportunity to introduce its privacy-focused technology directly to developers and new users who are shaping the future of the blockchain ecosystem. The sponsorship provides Zcash with strong brand visibility throughout the event and a dedicated day to organize its own activities.
>
> The Zcash Türkiye team will actively participate during the first three days of the event. Our program will begin with a comprehensive technical presentation focused on Zcash. During the presentation, attendees will learn about the importance of financial privacy, Zcash's technology, and its real-world use cases. Our goal is not only to introduce Zcash but also to demonstrate, through technical explanations and practical examples, why privacy-preserving blockchain technology is essential.
>
> During the presentation, participants will be guided by our team through the installation of the ZODL Wallet and the creation of their first Zcash wallet. This hands-on onboarding process will ensure that attendees not only learn about Zcash but also become active participants in the ecosystem. Complimentary beverages will be served throughout the presentation, and Zcash-branded merchandise—including T-shirts, keychains, and other promotional items—will be distributed to create a memorable and engaging experience.
>
> Following the presentation, we will officially launch a 24-hour Zcash Hackathon for the developers attending the event. Participants will be invited to build applications, tools, or innovative use cases utilizing the Zcash ecosystem. Throughout the hackathon, our team will provide technical guidance and mentorship, while the most outstanding projects will receive prizes. This approach encourages developers not only to understand Zcash in theory but also to gain practical experience by building real projects.
>
> This initiative is designed to be much more than a single presentation. Participants will first gain a technical understanding of Zcash, then immediately join the ecosystem by creating their own wallets, engage with the community throughout the event, and finally apply their knowledge during the hackathon. By combining education, hands-on onboarding, developer engagement, and community interaction, this project aims to increase Zcash's visibility in Türkiye, attract new users and developers to the ecosystem, and contribute to the long-term growth of a strong local Zcash community.
>
> \### Proposed Problem
>
> Although Zcash holds a strong position among privacy-focused technologies, it is still not widely recognized by the broader public and is often only superficially understood, even in markets like Türkiye where cryptocurrency adoption is significant. The technology is mature and the necessary tools are readily available; however, there remains a lack of effective outreach and hands-on educational experiences, particularly for new users and local Web3 communities.
>
>
> \### Proposed Solution
>
> The Zcash Türkiye team will deliver a hands-on community activation at Rlay Blockchain Week 2026 that combines education, practical onboarding, and developer engagement.
>
> Our program will begin with a technical presentation introducing Zcash, the importance of financial privacy, and real-world applications of privacy-preserving technology. Rather than simply presenting the project, we will provide attendees with a practical understanding of how Zcash works and why it is relevant.
>
> During the session, participants will be guided through installing the ZODL Wallet and creating their first Zcash wallet. This hands-on onboarding experience will immediately connect attendees with the Zcash ecosystem while allowing our team to answer questions and provide technical assistance in person.
>
> To encourage deeper engagement, complimentary refreshments and Zcash-branded merchandise will be distributed throughout the event, creating a welcoming environment and increasing participant interaction.
>
> Following the presentation, we will launch a 24-hour Zcash Hackathon for developers attending the event. Participants will be encouraged to build applications, tools, or integrations using the Zcash ecosystem, while our team provides mentorship and technical support throughout the competition. Prize incentives will reward the most innovative projects and motivate developers to continue exploring Zcash beyond the event.
>
> By combining technical education, hands-on wallet onboarding, community engagement, and a developer-focused hackathon, this initiative transforms awareness into active participation. Rather than leaving attendees with only theoretical knowledge, the project creates meaningful first experiences with Zcash and establishes lasting connections between participants and the ecosystem.
>
> \### Solution Format
>
> A dedicated Zcash event session featuring a technical presentation on financial privacy and the Zcash ecosystem.
> Hands-on onboarding by assisting attendees with installing the ZODL Wallet and creating their first Zcash wallet, supported by Zcash-branded merchandise and refreshments.
> A time-limited, prize-based 24-hour Zcash Hackathon that encourages developers to build applications and explore the Zcash ecosystem.
> Strong on-site brand visibility through banners, roll-up displays, brochures, promotional materials, and a dedicated Zcash booth.
> Social media coverage before, during, and after the event to amplify reach, showcase community engagement, and extend the impact beyond the attendees.
>
> \### Dependencies
>
> Approval and confirmation of the Event Sponsorship package by the Rlay Blockchain Week organizers.
> Availability of the Zcash Türkiye team to attend the event and execute the planned activities.
> Timely production and delivery of Zcash-branded promotional materials, including T-shirts, keychains, brochures, and roll-up banners.
> Availability of the technical equipment and internet connectivity required for the presentation and wallet onboarding session.
> Sufficient participation from developers and attendees in the hackathon and event activities.
>
> \### Technical Approach
>
> A face-to-face engagement approach will be adopted throughout the project. The initiative will focus on three core components: a technical presentation, hands-on ZODL Wallet installation and onboarding, and a 24-hour hackathon for developers. Participants will have the opportunity to interact directly with the Zcash Türkiye team, gain technical knowledge, and become active members of the Zcash ecosystem through practical experience.

>
> After booth visits and initial wallet setup, small amounts of ZEC rewards will be distributed to encourage users to continue using the platform. In addition, users will be encouraged to follow our social media channels and actively join the community.
>
> These small ZEC rewards will help users explore the Zcash ecosystem more closely, conduct further research, and more easily access community support when performing any future transactions.
>
> \### Success Metrics
>
> \* New Zcash wallet installations and onboarded users.
> \* Hackathon participants and projects developed during the competition.
> \* Delivery of a technical presentation introducing Zcash and financial privacy.
> \* New community connections, partnerships, and potential long-term collaborators.

>
> \### Startup Funding Justification
>
> Early approval of the event sponsorship and signing the agreement are essential. This will allow us to secure accommodation in advance and ensure sufficient time to organize all event logistics and preparations effectively.
>
> Major blockchain ecosystems such as \*\*Avalanche\*\* and \*\*Stellar\*\* are also participating as sponsors, and the number of sponsorship opportunities is limited. Reaching an agreement early will help secure Zcash's presence at the event while enabling our team to plan travel, logistics, promotional materials, and on-site activities well in advance, ensuring a high-quality execution.

The Zcash Türkiye team is planning to participate in **Rlay Blockchain Week** , which will take place in Türkiye from **August 15–22, 2026**. You can find detailed information about the event in the document below.

The event offers several sponsorship options. After reviewing the available packages, we believe that the **Event Sponsorship** package is the most effective way to increase Zcash’s visibility and engage directly with attendees. However, if you believe another sponsorship option would provide greater value for Zcash, we would greatly appreciate your feedback.

Our goal is to represent Zcash in the best possible way by delivering a technical presentation, onboarding participants through **ZODL Wallet** , organizing a developer-focused hackathon, and raising awareness of financial privacy.

# Rlay Hub Event Summary

First of all, I can honestly say that this was **one of the most enjoyable events I’ve attended recently**. The fact that it took place at a campsite also gave the event a very different atmosphere compared to the other events we’ve attended.

We participated in this event with a relatively lower budget than some of our previous events. Despite that, we had an incredibly productive and enjoyable **three days**.

Throughout the event, we had the opportunity to meet many new people, talk with students from different universities, exchange ideas with developers, and introduce Zcash directly to people who had never heard about it before.

I think this is one of the most important aspects of events like this. Sharing a post on social media is of course valuable, but sitting down with someone face-to-face, answering their questions directly, and explaining what Zcash is creates a completely different kind of impact.

## New Connections for the Zcash Tour in Türkiye

One of the most important outcomes of this event for us was the progress we made toward the **Zcash Tour in Türkiye** that we are planning to organize starting next year.

During the event, we established connections with students from different universities, community organizers, and various technology communities.

We also had the opportunity to strengthen some of the connections we had already established and discuss what we could potentially build together in the future.

I don’t see this event as simply a three-day event.

Some of the connections we made here could turn into much bigger opportunities over the coming months.

Especially when it comes to universities, we want to organize new events, introduce students to Zcash, bring developers into the ecosystem, and help people turn their own ideas into real projects.

For this reason, this event was also an important step toward the **Zcash Tour in Türkiye** we want to organize next year.

Our goal is not simply to attend a few events and talk about Zcash.

**We want to travel to different cities across Türkiye, visit universities, technology communities and developer communities, introduce Zcash, and help people become active members of the ecosystem.**

# 30 New Zodl Users

During the event, we helped approximately **30 new users download the Zodl wallet**.

However, our goal was not simply to get people to install a wallet.

Having someone install a Zcash wallet on their phone is certainly a great first step, but what really matters is for that person to **understand what Zcash is, why it provides privacy, and what they can actually do within the ecosystem.**

That’s why we also spent a significant amount of time talking with people after helping them set up their wallets.

We gave a presentation about Zcash and explained the basic principles of the Zcash ecosystem, its privacy features, and the ways in which Zcash differs from other cryptocurrencies.

We specifically talked about the differences between **private and transparent transactions** , how shielded transactions work, and how Zcash can be used in real life.

We also wanted people to understand that they don’t have to remain just users.

* * *

# Everyone Can Contribute to the Ecosystem

One of the things we emphasize at every event is that people shouldn’t look at the Zcash ecosystem only as users or investors.

Someone can be a developer.

A designer.

A content creator.

A translator.

A social media manager.

They can build a new project.

They can help a business start accepting Zcash.

Or they can simply contribute to the ecosystem by sharing their ideas.

That’s why we constantly ask people:

**“What do you think about Zcash?”**

We listen to their ideas, and if they want to build something, we try to help them figure out how they can turn that idea into reality.

Because for us, growing the community doesn’t simply mean having more Zcash users.

**We need more people creating ideas, building things, and taking an active role in the ecosystem.**

And now we come to the part of the event that was probably the most fun for us.

We organized a **48-hour mini hackathon** with a very limited amount of time.

A total of **10 different projects** participated in the competition.

I think this was definitely one of the best parts of the event.

Instead of simply telling students, “Learn about Zcash,” we gave them a limited amount of time and said:

**“Build something.”**

48 hours is a very short amount of time.

During those 48 hours, some teams prepared demo videos, some gave presentations, while others shared the GitHub repositories of the projects they developed.

Of course, not every project was at the same level.

Some were relatively simple ideas, while others were much more advanced.

But from our perspective, the most important thing was not simply the final product.

**Coming up with an idea, working on it, writing code, designing something, preparing a presentation, and ultimately producing something within 48 hours is already a significant amount of work.**

That’s why I believe every team that participated put in serious effort.

We saw students dedicate a significant portion of their time during the event to developing these projects.

Some of them worked until late at night, constantly discussed their projects, and continued improving things until the very last minute.

That was genuinely great to see.

I think this is one of the best things about hackathons.

You’re not just giving people an idea.

You’re giving them **a reason and the motivation to turn that idea into a real project.**

* * *

# The Winners and What Comes Next

At the end of the 48 hours, we evaluated all the projects and selected the winners.

However, for us, announcing the winners was not the end of the process.

Quite the opposite.

We want these projects to continue being developed after the event whenever possible.

We specifically told the participants:

**“Don’t leave your projects here.”**

If you genuinely believe in the idea you created, keep working on it.

Share your projects on the official Zcash Forum, get feedback from the community, listen to what people have to say, and use that feedback to take your projects to the next level.

We also told them that we would do everything we could to support them throughout this process.

Because for us, the success of a hackathon shouldn’t simply be measured as:

**“10 projects participated, the winners were selected, and the event ended.”**

The real success would be if some of those 10 projects continue to be developed after the event and perhaps turn into real, usable Zcash projects a few months from now.

* * *

# Why This Event Was Important to Us

Overall, these three days were extremely busy for us.

We met new people.

We connected with new communities.

We spoke with university students.

We gave a presentation about Zcash.

We introduced the Zodl wallet to around 30 new people.

We organized a 48-hour hackathon with 10 different projects.

And most importantly, we tried to show people that **the Zcash ecosystem isn’t something they simply have to observe from the outside — everyone can become a part of it.**

I believe this is one of the most important ways to grow Zcash.

Meeting people, talking to them, answering their questions, and giving them an opportunity to build something.

I don’t think simply posting on social media is enough to build a large and active community.

**People need to meet each other, share ideas, and build things together.**

That’s why physical events are extremely valuable to us.

* * *

# The Next Phase

One of our main priorities after this event will be continuing the connections we established here.

We want to strengthen our relationships with universities and technology communities in particular.

As part of the **Zcash Tour in Türkiye** we are planning for next year, we aim to reach more universities and communities across different cities.

Our goal isn’t just to introduce Zcash to people who are already interested in cryptocurrency.

**We want to reach developers, students, entrepreneurs, designers, and anyone with a new idea.**

Maybe a project that starts today as a small demo at a hackathon will become a real product a few months from now.

Maybe a student who downloads a Zcash wallet for the first time today will eventually build a project within the Zcash ecosystem.

Maybe a community we met today will become one of the most important partners for an event we organize next year.

We can’t know any of that yet.

But what matters is **building these connections and giving people opportunities.**

# Finally

Rlay Hub was more than just another event for us.

**For three days, we had fun, met new people, and had the opportunity to introduce Zcash to a completely new audience.**

And the fact that we were able to accomplish all of this with a relatively low budget makes it even more meaningful to us.

The feedback we received, the connections we established, and the projects created during the hackathon showed us something once again:

**When you give people an opportunity, they genuinely want to build.**

Our job is to reach as many of these people as possible, introduce them to the Zcash ecosystem, and support them in whatever they want to build.

That’s why, moving forward, we will be putting even more focus on events, universities, and communities.

**We are already starting preparations for the Zcash Tour in Türkiye.**

Thank you to everyone who talked with us at Rlay Hub, participated in the hackathon, attended our Zcash presentation, downloaded the Zodl wallet, and spent time with us throughout the event.

**See you at the next event.**

The vibe seems nice, even in a different place, but it looks disciplined, great work! Definitely something to explore.

I’ve been to a few camping events, and very little actually happens; most people are only interested in other things.
