It looks like [this is being taken care of by ZF](https://forum.zcashcommunity.com/t/zecwallet-community-reorg/40898/8). Other than support for NU5, nothing has been announced and nothing has been committed. I guess ZF just wants to keep the options open while trying not to set any expectation, which is in line with their current communication strategy.
