He means you have to send the desired amount of shielded funds to your own transparent address first and then the tex transaction will select those transparent funds to send out to wherever. This is basically the process that zodl performs for you automatically, it deshields to its own transparent address and sends to the tex address (which is an encoding of a transparent address).
Tex issuers like Binance use them because they really, really don’t want deposits from shielded addresses and the Tex address type is designed to help prevent that by doing the deshielding process described above and ensuring only fully transparent transactions T2T.
Hi guys. Can you tell me how to switch from Ywallet to Zkool?
On Zkool, I create a new account, check the “Restore account” box, and enter the seed phrase.
It creates a wallet, but doesn’t restore mine.
Or do I need to enter the private key instead of the seed phrase?
I need help with my question!
On windows I can’t set a database password. I schedule database manager, then close and reopen, choose set password. I leave old password black presumably as I didn’t set one before. Enter new password, then get error message:
"Failed to change database password: Anyhow exception(This process cannot access the file because it is being used by another process. (os error 32)
Then it has Stack backtrace: which just says loads of times then 18. BaseThreadInitThunk 19. RtlUserThreadStart)
What version?
Are you sure you closed the app and not started a 2nd instance?
Yeah, I tried a couple of times. It’s the latest version. The same thing was happening awhile ago on an older version and before I recently did a fresh windows install.
Please try this new version Release zkool: v6.22.1-rc · hhanh00/zkool2 · GitHub
That’s fixed it, thanks
Is there no way to get past this error on Ywallet? All servers have this error
failed to validate tx: WtxId(“private”), error: transaction did not pass consensus validation: could not contextually validate transaction on best chain: unknown Orchard anchor: Root(“152197c61fb895a18dc43887ec17413e824338ecfd38bf8840e1a81d48595b30”),

I do need to update to this old wallet Zkool but not sure I want to trust app app store
It should fix by itself but if not you can rewind
Rewind fixed it
Has Zkool been audited by the Zcash team yet? Is it stable? From what I’ve seen, it’s new, and I’m hesitant to use it. I used to use YWallet, but I switched to ZingoPC when I realized YWallet was being discontinued. I’d like to use Zkool, but I want it to mature and become more stable first; I’m just not sure if it’s stable enough yet or if it’s better to wait a bit longer.
An audit was approved in Nov, idk if its been made public.
Could you post or dm the tex address?
I can’t send you private messages, there’s no button.
If you tap on my user icon there should be a little letter message button
Ok that could be user level thing.
(Zkool allows for transparent spends, so should be able to get around this but need to verify the address is good first, maybe w another wallet trying to think of an easy way)
Try this and see if the address is valid
