Auto-Failover SDK for Zcash Lightwalletd — multi-language failover tool for wallets, servers, and apps

hey everyone,
just dropped our grant proposal for the Auto-Failover SDK — think of it like Electrum’s multi-server resilience, but rebuilt for Zcash and written to work across multiple languages (js/ts, php, python, rust, etc.).

the goal isn’t just to fix wallet outages. this tool can be used for any kind of Zcash-connected app — payment processors, merchant tools, monitoring dashboards, plugins — basically anything that relies on lightwalletd endpoints.

it’s non-custodial, lightweight, and designed for devs who don’t wanna deal with setting up full nodes or learning Ruby just to keep their app alive. it saves infra costs, makes apps more stable, and helps grow adoption by lowering the entry barrier for builders.

right now, a lot of teams lose time or money every time an endpoint goes down. this sdk handles that automatically — fast failover, geo routing, health checks, and anomaly detection — all built into one open-source library.

why it matters:

  • less downtime for users and wallets
  • cheaper setups for devs who can’t host big nodes
  • easier adoption for non-Ruby developers
  • works across multiple ecosystems, not just wallets

we’re looking for devs, node operators, and community members to drop feedback, questions, or just thoughts about what could make this even better. every comment, like, or opinion helps move it forward.
