Block rewards in the case that the dev fund is allowed to expire

With all due respect to the discussion, I can’t get past one thing that cuts my ear every time. I know several disparate miners of 5 to 40 Z15 machines that don’t sell ZEC. They don’t sell it at all and have been saving it since the first day they started mining Zcash. They don’t need to sell ZEC that because they cover their expenses with income from other activities. And they have never told me that they are against the Dev Fund.

My comment is intended so that everyone can evaluate the situation fairly and treat the motivation of some private miners with objectivity.

This is really interesting information.

Are these miners on ZCAP?

By the way, I myself have been mining Zcash on Z15 from the first shipment up to 2021 and have written several articles about mining. These coins have not been sold. So there is at least one person in ZCAP who was mining Zcash on ASICs not for the purpose of selling. And that’s not a couple dozen coins at all. As for the other cases. I don’t think any of them are active in ZCAP. For example, I have a friend who mines Zcash among other things and who is willing to help me with everything, but he doesn’t sell anything. He sells all KAS, all bitcoin, all dogi, some lightcoin, but not Zcash. Taking a principled stand. But simply selling ZEC even doesn’t make logical sense because it’s constantly at a level where the sale won’t recoup the hardware costs for even 2 years. And my friend just does not want to be active, because we discuss all important things with him and Zcash is one of our favorite topics.

To understand, in Russia you don’t need to keep ASICs at home and come up with some complicated infrastructure options. So-called mining hotels are developed here. You can contract with these companies to supply, connect and maintain your ASICs. The concentration of such mining hotels is in the area of Lake Baikal - the deepest lake in the world. Electricity is cheap there. About 1.5 to 2 cents per kilowatt. People buy ASICs by the dozens. So you don’t even have to be physically located there. You can live in another country and do it at all. There are certain risks there, because there is still no legal framework for such a business. And if tomorrow some law were to be passed prohibiting this type of activity, everything could change dramatically. But this is off-topic.

When one of the people who bought several used miners from me, we talked about the future of Zcash. I told him about my vision of it being the money of the future. He agreed. He said that he is mining for the future, so that he doesn’t have to buy coins on the exchange, because he doesn’t intend to show his passport on dubious platforms. Here’s a story. Other stories also involve people contacting me with questions about mining, but I’m not necessarily in touch with them at the moment. When I ask them “why Zcash?”, because there are more profitable coins out there. They would reply that it’s not for sale. Let them save up. I trust this information, so in this case there is no motivation to tell untruths.

As was recently pointed out by community leaders - the Zcash underground is much deeper. It’s not necessarily people being active. The audience that values ZCash is specific. It’s not people who are active on social media. It’s not people who are too transparent in their lives. These are the quiet people who are suspicious of this world with its systems and don’t trust it. These are mostly anons.

I wrote here recently that the statistics of visits to my resources absolutely do not correlate with the number of news subscriptions. People prefer to go to the site under a VPN bookmark in the browser.

Look at the growth of Orchard pool is growing right now. In just 2 months about +200,000 coins. People were just given a wallet and told you can trust this. That’s a large number of people, but why aren’t they on the forum? Most often because they don’t want to publicize their interest.
