Got a full time node and have been making a thing of archiving the difficulty count every so often.
Earlier tonight, when checking current difficulty, first thing of notice was that it had dropped to 8000, so immediately logging was enabled.
In a matter of for what it seemed seconds, it had then rose back to 15000+ and continued to ascend:
