Hey Zcash community!
I’m the person behind Zapp and JustZappIt.xyz, finally joining the forum after lurking for a while!
My Zcash journey actually started with the Zypherpunk Hackathon, where I where I won a few tracks for building a P2P model that connects ZEC with local fiat rails like PIX, UPI, and WeChat Pay. You can still see the original demo here. That concept has since evolved into Zapp, a privacy-first messenger that brings ZEC straight into chat but the facilitator network is still very much part of the plan. It’s the long-term goal for bridging ZEC into real-world payments, and Zapp is the first step toward making that ecosystem work seamlessly.
What’s cooking:
Zapp (Android + iOS): private P2P messenger with end-to-end encryption, no phone number required. Not live just yet, but getting close! Join the waitlist to be notified.
JustZappIt.xyz: a community-verified map of real-world exchange spots for cash to crypto, no account needed.
Up next:
In-chat ZEC payments, powered by Zodl, so users can send ZEC right inside their chats. Zapp is the conversation layer, Zodl moves the coins. Not a new wallet, just making ZEC more social.
Facilitator network (yup, the hackathon thing!), local bridge layer for QR payments like WeChat Pay, PIX, UPI, M-Pesa, etc. It’s how I imagine ZEC reaching everyday, on-the-ground transactions even where merchants aren’t crypto-ready.
The waitlist’s live if you want early access. Would love to hear what you think. What kind of ZEC tools or use cases would make P2P crypto actually useful day to day?
