GPU physical identification

Hey All,

Is there a way to identify what GPU in EWBF corresponds to what GPU in MSI Afterburner and actually identify the physical card.

I’ve got 1 GPU that keeps failing in EWBF (GPU1) which I assume is GPU2 in MSI as EWBF starts counting at 0 and MSI at 1.

But is there a way to make the lights flash like a raid drive or ID which physical card it is?

Thanks for any help or suggestions.

So I came up with a solution to this using MSI Afterburner. Not as easy as making the lights flash but it does work.

  1. Un synch the cards.
  2. One by one, change the fan speed to 100% on each card so you can identify the one in question.

Keep in mind EWBF starts at GPU0 which actually equals GPU 1 in Afterburners
so
EWBF GPU0 = MSI GPU 1
EWBF GPU1 = MSI GPU 2
EWBF GPU2 = MSI GPU 3
and so on.

I did as well find I can set the ID of my GPU’s based on how they are connected to the motherboard. At least this does work for my z270-a. Others will have to test themselves.

PCIEx16-1 = GPU 0
PCIEx16_2 = GPU 1
PCIEx16_3 = GPU 2
PCIEx1_1 = GPU 3
PCIEx1_2 = GPU 4

So in review it ID’s the x16 slots first in order and then the x1 slots in order.

Hope that helps somebody else.

Now just need to figure out why this rig keeps freezing.

Cheers.

That’s also the only way I could do it. Unsynch, run one up to 100% (or 0%) to identify which is which.
