[Grant Application] Strategic Lobbying and Community Building for the Proliferation and Understanding of Zcash in Japan

Hi Zcash Community,

I am Ryu from Fracton Ventures, a Japan based Web3 incubator working on ecosystem development, regulatory education, and cross border collaboration.

We have officially submitted our proposal to the Zcash Community Grants program and would like to share an overview here to gather feedback from the community and ensure that our direction is aligned with Zcash’s long term vision.

What we are proposing for Zcash in Japan

Our proposal focuses on regulatory education and community foundation building in Japan, one of the most regulated crypto markets in the world.

The initiative consists of two main parts.

First, regulatory education and strategic clarification.
We plan to conduct structured educational engagement with Japanese regulatory stakeholders and legal experts in order to deepen understanding of Zcash’s architecture, selective disclosure mechanisms such as Viewing Keys, and compliance relevant design features.

This is not an attempt to push for immediate policy change. The goal is to improve technical understanding and support informed dialogue based on protocol level facts.

Second, community foundation development.
In collaboration with Centrum, a Tokyo based cypherpunk collective, we will activate and strengthen a Zcash focused community through workshops and a dedicated Zcash session within Ethereum Meetup Tokyo.

Our aim is to build a sustainable base of developers, researchers, and users who understand Zcash’s privacy model and long term positioning.

We would greatly appreciate feedback.

Thank you for your time, and we look forward to constructive discussion.

Hi ZCG team,

Thank you for taking the time to review our proposal and for the thoughtful feedback.

While we’re naturally disappointed that it wasn’t approved this time, we truly appreciate the opportunity to present our idea to the Zcash community. We respect the committee’s decision and understand that the grant process is highly competitive.

We remain interested in contributing to the Zcash ecosystem and will take your suggestion seriously to become more involved with the community, including engaging with Zechub and participating more actively in discussions.

Our goal has always been to help expand awareness and meaningful participation around privacy technologies, and we hope to find ways to contribute constructively to the Zcash community going forward.

Thank you again for your consideration, and we look forward to staying connected.
