I have a few coins stuck in Binance (2 coins), I didn’t know that withdrawals were blocked and I bought 2 coins taking advantage of the small drop in the value of the coin.
I am very sad about binance.

I am seriously considering closing my binance account. I managed to transfer the few coins I had on Binance, withdrew everything and now the account is empty.
Yes, and you can’t be blamed for it. If you haven’t, please communicate this to Binance’s customer support.
All Zcashers that feel like this should do this for any service that supports ZEC but falls short. We engineers can do only that much, customers is what companies ultimately (should) care about. Your collective voice as a customers is probably more powerful in the end than all Zcash engineers’ combined.
I can’t use Binance where I live so I might be wrong here. But I feel like the voting question for delisting is set up to give biased results.
When people want to vote they see Zcash as one of the cryptos on top of a list (right?). And then one is asked to click on five cryptos.
This is a flawed method as Zcash gets more visibility compared to other cryptos on the list.
A better approach is to ask people to type up to five cryptocurrencies without seeing a list. In that case people might feel less inclined to vote for Zcash. Even better if people are required to give a motivation.
Another approach can be to randomly change the order of the list for every viewer.
Showing provisional results is also not desired for getting unbiased results. And honestly I think bias is inherent in any future poll as people can already see the results of the previous and current voting rounds. Hence why I think that it is important to require people writing a motivation.
I think it would be good if someone like Jason informs Binance about the flaws of their voting design (if people here agree with me).
I have a call scheduled with Binance tomorrow, where I plan to raise this issue along with other concerns about their polling process. I’ll also push hard for the removal of the monitoring tag. It is long overdue. The flaws in their new polling mechanism demonstrate that Zcash does not belong on the monitoring list.
“Zcash founder Zooko Wilcox tagged Binance CEO Richard Teng in a tweet on Tuesday: “You’re considering delisting Zcash!? What kind of world are you creating? Do you want your children to grow up in peace and prosperity, or a Black Mirror episode?”
Digital Currency Group founder Barry Silbert also shared several posts lamenting Binance’s decision to include Zcash on the list.
The sentiment was also echoed by Ledger CTO Charles Guillemet and Cosmos co-foudner Ethan Buchman, both of whom highlighted the importance of privacy.”
What was the response from binance?
The call was an opportunity to explain why Zcash shouldn’t be delisted, why the monitoring tag should be removed, and why the polls are an unfair and flawed approach. The conversation was constructive, but I’m unable to share the details of what we discussed. We won’t know their decision until the next round of delistings is officially announced.
TEX addressees should have never been created. The precedent set allows other exchanges to treat Zcash in the same manner.
Focus dev resources on building more SHIELDED decentralized exchange and cold storage options instead.
One of the values of Zcash is that you have the ability to choose what you want to use, but that doesn’t give you the right to dictate to others what they want to use.
That may have been true in the days of Sprout and Sapling when users could choose privacy by only giving out a “Z address”
It is not true in 2025 under Orchard when in practice people seeking maximum privacy end up leaking their “T address” every time they give out their Unified address (which can be parsed to reveal their T address):
Please be honest and stop pretending that most Zcash users have a choice. Many of us hate the privacy implications of unified addresses that were forced upon the network.
Binance will remove the monitoring tag for Zcash on July 9.
See official announcement here.
Great news! congrats to all the workers who got this saga wrapped up
