The ironwood protocol update is activating on Tuesday, July 28th, 2026.
Funds you send with Zingo will go into ironwood.
Change back to you will remain privately sealed inside Orchard, it won’t be revealed.
Nym mixnet privacy is NOT ACTIVE in this Zingo release, so you should use NYM VPN!
Nym mixnet integration is undergoing stress-testing and security analysis now.
Recommendation:
For non urgent transactions we recommend waiting for the next release, which is following shortly and will include Nym derived privacy and ZIP318 style migration options.
Will this integration with Nym work even if I manually migrate to Ironwood by transferring the coins to another wallet with new seed phrases (Zingo to Zingo or Zingo to Zkool)?
Nope, not yet as Zingo devs will have Nym in next release (so you can wait for next release!), but you can just download NymVPN for free today and turn it on at the same time you use NymVPN to protect your IP address during Ironwood. See https://zcash.nym.com or read all about it here Free NymVPN for Zcash's Ironwood migration | Nym
Folks our ironwood release is available on Android and has been since before activation.
Unfortunately we are experiencing delays in the Apple Store Front review process. Zingo is in review, and should release on ios within the next 48 hours.
Known Issues:
We have found the root cause for an issue crashing Android 12 and below. The fix is being deployed.
We’ve updated our CI harness to eliminate this kind of failure going forward.
Because our ios app was not released in time, wallets will be confused by the NU6.3 upgrade until the release from the Apple store. Even then their state will be muddled by the attempt to sync against the surprising pool.
This will mean that after upgrade ios users will have to run a full rescan.
Good:
Because zingo is built on pepper-sync which has intelligent rapid targetted scanning, a rescan is a relatively fast operation.
