Everybody can look to whatttomine. If zcash team decided to not prevent ASIC domination,i will be disappointed, because I will be forced to lost my time for switching my nvidia rigs to other more profitable for GPU mining coin. As we can see it can be BTG, RVN, LUX (nice new coin), BTX, VTC.
A little psichological problem is - i realy love zcash and
it will be a little sad for me to leave zcash comunity, but i will do it when zcash will be not profitable for me.

It’s called risk distribution. If they keep everything for them and their governement ban mining they can’t make moeny anymore. If they have a dual business, they can still sell if they can’t mine.
Sold out for me too in Canada.

For the people who want Zcash to move to ASICs, why dont you buy a ASIC for a coin already using them? Ohh ya because they dont make any money. Why do you think this will be different after 2-3 months?

If they call it mini, they surely have a maxi coming soon. Now people will start building huge mining farm with 50 of those equivalent to 750 x 1080 ti!!! Difficulty will raise so fast!!! And I fear those Asics can’t even pay for themselves…
And who knows tomorrow they may raise it to 5000 by client!

IF Zcash can’t prevent the asic before january 2019 I fear all gpu miners will be gone out of business well before that. Then they will "ask the community"again in december 2018 just to be sure eveyrone still agree to change the pow and the new community of Z9 mini owners will say: NO!
So the excuse of saying “well we can’t change the algo cause we need to deploy overwinter ans sapling first” is the nail in the coffin for GPU mining for Zcash it’s as simple at that!

Right now in bitmain eyes _ you can buy 50 z9 for usd:2000++
why the profit is very very big they are selling you z9 and they may be using z10 mining

I’m already convinced, the Zcash team won’t do anything about this. By the time they might decide they want to do anything, it will be too late. I’ll probably move my miners to Ethereum and perhaps Bitcoin Gold once they change algorithms. Turns out sticking with Zec even when it wasn’t the most profitable thing to mine wasn’t worth it.

But the worst is if Bitmain continue to make huge profits that way, they will soon make Asics for all the major coins, control them all and crypto could simply die because of that weakness one way or the other maybe sooner that we can imagine…
Please: DO something now Zcashco!
Just imagine one scenario:
Chinese governement taking control of Bitmain secretly…

p.s. i can’t buy z9 directly from bitmain, they don’t ship to Russia. the price from resellers will be aprox 3500 $, and i can’t to get it fast as the first bitmain batch, and i know that second batch will not profitable I assume that the zcash team won’t change an algorithm.And I think i can say it now - good bye ZCASH.

Let’s do the math.In 2017-2018 Bitmain sold about 1 900 000 Antminers S9.
Now they selling us Z9 mini with 50 pieces limit.
All ZEC hashrate for now about 500 Ms\s.
July 2018 - 500 people buys Z9 mini 50 pieces each (25 000 total) - net hashrate + 250 Ms\s (750 Ms’s total, GPU-minig profit minus 33%)
August 2018 - 1000 people buys Z9 mini 50 pieces each (5 0000 total) - net hashrate + 500 Ms\s (1250 Ms’s total, GPU-mining profit below ZERO)
September 2018 - ZEC lose all GPU-community, who’s supported it’s project from day 0.

What a great post. FlatEarthDave is in da house.
There is a big difference with a quasi monopoly of 2 american companies in a free country making multi purpose GPU and a full monopoly of a single Chinese company making ultra specialized Asics in a country controled by dictators.
For sure I would prefer a third and a fouth GPU manufacturer (Intel is coming by the way as soon as 2019) but no one big is coming soon for Bitmain (maybe samsung but it could take years).
