There seems to be alot of hacking, Zelle, Cash App, Robinhood, etc… i intend to hold ZEC for a very long time. Would paper wallets (shielded and/or unshielded) still be viable in 5 years? I think the obvious answer is yes.

The Zcash community could decide to maintain indefinite backward compatibility and honor older and older coins in future years, but they might also decide to wind down honoring older coins and older technology in order to stop incurring ongoing blockchain storage costs and security risks (due to accumulating “technical debt” from old and potentially insecure code). It isn’t clear yet which way the community will go.
