id really like to see ZEC supported with BTCPayServer(in the new version i guess?) - that opens up many online stores and also Shopify.
and makes the maintenance of the Zcash support easier with the plugin?
if this work is started, it should use Zebrad and all the new wallet components instead of relying on the soon to be deprecated Zcashd (tho these new wallet components are not quite production ready yet i guess)

The most important part is to get merchant involved. Otherwise it will just gather dust for years like it did.

Yah, I definitely agree with you that merchant outreach will be key. In fact I think it’s so important that it should be prioritized as its own separate project with its own scope and grant proposal.
For example, it would be such an easy win if ZCash were just listed as one of Namecheap’s payment options. Namecheap says they’ve done more than $70 million in crypto transactions since they implemented BTCPay and they’ve specifically said they’d like to extend support for more BTCPay payment methods in the future.
But I’m a big fan of accomplishing things by taking one step at a time.

Update: Birdcalls is formally withdrawing from all association with Zcash due to a current clash of values in our respective cultures.
