I don’t mean to be rude but I do get amazed by you ability to wax philosophical about a two-sentence reply “unreal” just means “too big”
No, I am not making this argument. I’m saying that if I were working in your team I would be disappointed by this move because it would increase the risk of the project running out of funding. Maybe your team does support the grant value, that’s fine.
Pepper-sync is not only a conceptual advancement in its efficient algorithm and speeds up sync, it’s quality code.
The POC zecwallet program which slowed development down for years has been replaced with idiomatic, documented, organized code. Its hard to communicate the joy of seeing the different species and flavours of key laid out in a grid and kept organized through the entire process.
Paid off most of the tech debt. Zingo (open source) is a feasible foundation for new projects because of this work.
Hi @zancas - if you would find it valuable, I would like to offer a bit of my time to you on 1) a plan to make a pepper-sync proposal that I think token holders would be happy to pass and 2) product design improvements for Zingo wallets.
It might be interesting to dialog.
I have found your perspective interesting, and certainly got a lot of the feedback we were looking for with this proposal from you! Thanks for that.
Per the design of Zingo, we’re always interested in feedback.
The current design reflects not a lack of insight into potential improvements, but a lack of funding to make such improvements.
In any event, we have committed to a substantial redesign elements some of which will be available at the Cross Link Demo on December 3d. After surveying the state of the wallet at the demo, you’ll have better context to comment on design (since that’s almost certainly going to inform the design that will be used going forward).
Per zingo-pc it’s critical to note that it has been the “evenings and weekends” project of a single overworked developer for years.
My opinion is the fact that Zingo has a desktop offering (does Zashi with 5x the staff and ???x the funding?) is the result of an act of unalloyed heroism. @Juanky should be applauded for his tireless effort over the years.
If we fail to recognize the giants who carried Zcash through the last half decade, while treading on their shoulders, they are apt, like Atlas, to shrug.
