Can you explain why you think this is true? Seems abnormal since being a lawyer by nature to play in the regulatory b.s. circle jerk, would require you to be doxxed, right?
Good idea!
How do you think the Zcash Foundation is doing in achieving its mission on a scale of 1 to 10? And if your answer is less than 10, how would you utilize your role as a Director to bring ZF to a 10?
Thanks,
David
I don’t have a number for you. I’ve offered a few ideas on this chain and on the prior chain of my nomination that may partially answer your question.
But the most important thing to me is to listen. I will continue to be active on this forum and on our Telegram and Discord channels to listen to and interact with everyone in our community.
I would also commit to create a dedicated z-address (and maybe a dedicated protonmail address for longer communications) that I will share exclusively with the members of the Zcash Advisory Panel for the members to use to give me regular, private, anonymous feedback about ZF’s work.
- Given your background in law, is it feasable to set in stone in Zf’s statutes that doing any kind of politics (besides the actual ones required to advance privacy) is forbidden ? I’m talking of the usual leftwing vs right wing type of divisive politics, eg promoting funding abortion in Zcon, use of dogwhistle things like pronouns or hatespeech things.
Many thanks
- Will you help make Zf transparent regarding hiring practices, productivity and wages ? Is this a concern for you ? Also, I would like to understand your stance in the topic of meritocracy vs bland diversity and inclusion, especially because Zf is funded by the community and not by some sort of corporate america narrative.
-
Is it a problem in your opinion that the Foundation runs and administers the “Zcash community” forums ? Would you support the rest of the community to be involved at it to help with decentralization and censorship resistance ?
-
Do you support Zf to engage in financial activities, specifically trading derivatives or short-selling Zec ? If yes, should it be reported to the community ?
Do you think the ECC is qualified to lead product development for Zcash?
how many hours a week/month do you anticipate devoting to this role?
If the amount of time I now spend on the zcash forum, and writing about privacy issues, and advocating for financial privacy in DC is any indication…a lot.
What is the biggest regulatory risk for Zcash in the United States where the Foundation is based in?
What is the biggest risk Zcash will face in the global regulatory regime?
And how do you think the Foundation should prepare and react to these risks?
You are asking precisely the right question.
Regulators are often active in the forums of those they target, the CFTC’s abuse of power in it’s case against Ooki Dao teaches that lesson. So I cannot give you the discussion you would like here.
Hit my z-address with a shielded memo chat and glad to share all my thoughts under the shield. zs1u7m0thayst4ckz03x7j42l8x5c4qgr4n7nef2wlgw2kfx06spdch2pm3gxs3u3v7prwnzqffazr
For now I will only share that I believe this community and its founders have done everything right since 2016, have been smart and careful about decentralization from the very beginning, and is so far from the Howey test or any AML issues that I believe Zcash is the last thing on any regulators minds right now and that is as it should be.
We’re hosting a Community Call with Jay and Kurt later today at 20:00 UTC.
We’re going to host the call on Zoom. You can join using this link.
The recorded video from Zoom will then be posted on the ZF Youtube channel.
