Zapp Update — 16 September 2026
Android installs went from 20 devices to 75. The iOS beta link went out for public testing three days ago and already has 41 testers.
Android 4.6.7 is live. Seven releases went out this month and everything below is already in users’ hands.
iOS 1.0.3 is with Apple for App Store review, the first Zapp iOS build to get there. Governance voting, the selfie check and a chat speed pass pending for next build.
Live on Android now (4.6.1 → 4.6.7)
- Gift ZEC with a link. Zapp creates a throwaway wallet, funds it, and gives you a link to share. Whoever opens it claims the money, with no account needed on either side.
- Cash out to your bank or payment app. You offer USDC, a buyer takes it, and they pay you in your own currency. Zapp never holds the money.
- Buy ZEC with local currency, now including Bolivia, Cuba, Ecuador, Peru and the Philippines.
- Vote on Zcash governance proposals from inside the app.
- Export a viewing key, behind the app lock.
- Hide your balance with an eye button, including in activity and charts.
- Photos in chat arrive even if you go offline. The recipient gets the picture after you have closed the app.
In the iOS build with Apple
- The same gift links, cash out, local currency buying and balance privacy that Android has, plus a portfolio chart valued in your own currency and a required app lock at setup.
- Chat caught up to Android: contact cards, QR codes to start a chat, full screen photos, files, GIFs, payment requests, split bill.

- Governance voting, a selfie check that raises your buy limit without a social account, and a noticeably smoother chat screen.
