I’d happily listen to the thoughts of Mullvad VPN leader(s) on what we all need to do to better defend privacy as a whole, and what they think about Zcash (without unnecessarily shilling Zcash).
I’d happily listen to Ameen Soleimani, because he’s a zero bs tolerance policy type of pal and although his conclusions can be painful at times, it can still be good to hear them. Also he’s involved in the defense of actually oppressed people (porn industry, Iranian citizens, etc) and it’s the kind of people we want to help as well isn’t it. I know he’s tense with Zooko, so it should be an opportunity for a reset as well. Let him respectfully defend his vision of good and bad pools, and we respectfully defend ours that it doesn’t work. Ultimately, we really should be friends.
I’d happily listen to Shawn Tabrizi, because I believe Kusama and Zcash will eventually work hand in hand, the values are identical: Make Kusama Chaotic Again | Shawn Tabrizi
I just help Jason upload the episodes to Spotify/Itunes - all the thanks go to him (@aquietinvestor) for his organization and time as well as all the guests who take the time to join the conversations and Jason’s friend who edits the videos.
I approve of your ideas regarding the guests and think these would be very exciting episodes. Maybe we can get them motivated to make a guest appearance!?
Not sure how feasible this is, but I had the idea of bringing in some known personalities from crypto exchanges where Zcash is listed. I think it would be interesting to discuss the role of transparent addresses in enabling regulatory compliance, which allows Zcash to maintain on- and off-ramp opportunities with large players in a regulated landscape. Obviously transparent addresses face criticism for potentially compromising privacy, but as of now they still are important for Zcash’s integration into mainstream exchanges. Guests could share some insights on how exchanges navigate this tension, their views on Zcash’s privacy features and the future of privacy coins in regulated markets in different jurisdictions. Just throwing out that idea.
Talks with DEX builders would of course also be very interesting. Especially now because of the whole KYC and data leak fiasco (e.g. Coinbase).
I’d be curious to hear builders of DEXs as well, but specifically trustless ones. Old school DEXs are better than nothing, but still lacking severely compared to trustless ones imho.
Btw @aquietinvestor, I don’t know anyone at Mullvad, and interviewing Ameen really requires some work on understanding his history, motives, and quirks. I may be able to connect you with Shawn Tabrizi though, if you wish, just let me know.
