Did Zooko just lie about daily ZEC transaction count or is he really that clueless about the state of Zcash?
Around 29m 15sec of the third talk, The frontiers of privacy: evolution of protocols, communities, and ecosystems, Zooko states Zcash has, “like 10,000 to 30,000 transactions per day. Which is not very many on the grand scale of things. And I’ve increased it by 5 so far today.”
In reality, the blockchain shows a rough average of 4,000-5,000 tx per day for the past 6 years. And that includes both coinbase and transparent transactions. There would be even less tx activity were it not for the 2022 spam attack that crippled parts of the Zcash network for months on end.

Does the former CEO of Electric Coin Company really not know the transaction and adoption metrics or did he attempt to deliberately mislead a public discussion? Either way, it’s a pretty bad look.
