Zaino mediates communication between end users (wallets, light and full, explorers, …) and the ledger.
Zingo Labs has cultivated unparalleled expertise in this domain building out the core indexing functionality for Zcash metadata (Zaino itself), participating in protocol design and development via ZIPs and design meetings, and collaborating with other core infrastructure teams focused on Zallet and Zebra.
We’re asking the community to provide us with sufficient support for one year of operation and upgrades.
In order to enable us to adapt to privacy, security, and efficiency requirements we are asking the community to support a monthly release-driven payment structure. This has precedence in ZCG grants that target “maintenance” projects.
Our goals for this year are:
- adaptation to modern chain access patterns (tachyon and homomorphically queried introducers)
- full replacement of required Zcashd functionality
- regular rapid release of zainod and supporting libraries
- predictable releases on a fixed interval (1-4 weeks tbd)
- aggressive reduction of attack surfaces
- DRY concise code
- lean feature sets
- elision of C++
- maximal re-use of relevant partner libraries (e.g. zebra_db)
- rapid adoption of local-AI
- expansion of metadata security and privacy via mixnets
- dedicated cryptography, security, and privacy roles
The environment is shifting rapidly, we need the resources to stay ahead of developments and continue to support the world’s most secure and private value transfer system.
