- November 8th update
- November 15th update
- November 22nd update
- November 29th update
- Outreach to Zcashd users:
- I’ve been reaching out to different partners and nudging them weekly.
- We’ve gotten a few responses so far and I’m also piggybacking the NU6 upgrade wallet troubleshooting with Exchanges and Block Explorers
- Development Coordination
- Continue to recruit and find developers within the Zcash ecosystem whose development effort overlap with the existing Zcashd deprecation backlog
- I’m working with Zingo and Blockchain commons to tackle the wallet import format and also exporting existing Zcashd wallets to that new format. That will probably shape 2 grants.
- Maintain Zcashd Deprecation Boards.

- Development:
- Mild tasks done on this. Just addressed comments on Librustzcash Account Balance PR
- NU6 rollout. Support Shielded wallet developers as needed. (Ongoing)
- We are continuously assisting wallet developers troubleshoot issues with their wallets due to NU6. The upgrade went well protocol and node wise. Some wallets experienced some service disruption and we (ECC engineers, Jason and myself) are working with them and following up with the affected users where applicable.
- (postponed) CEX and DEX finality outreach
- Reach out to CEX and DEX listed in the Zec Hub Exchange page to gather how they establish Zcash tx confirmation times on their platforms:
- NU6 wallet troubleshooting took priority over this

- Development:
- Get Ledger Hardware wallet support to the finish line and Get it done.
- Did PoC of updating to latest Zcash crates that helped draft an action plan towards making Zondax’s code point to librustzcash crates and not forks.
- Spoke with Zondax Devs about that work. They’ve decided that it would be useful to detach Wallet work from the ledger zcash app code itself. So we agreed that the ledger-zcash-rs repo will be split in two. I would have to move a lot of code from the PoC to the other repo but that’s ok. This closes the following issues:
- Moved the PoC code to the new repo and continued analysis there. There are several semantic conflicts and library versions conflicting or shadowing themselves. PCZT is a way out of this. @str4d is actually. working on a PR for PCZT for the sapling crypto crate.
- Scheduled a Meeting with Zcash devs, ZCG, Zingo and Zondax for December 5th where Zondax will present their designed workflow for other wallets than ZecWallet and discuss a path forward
- Did a small fix of tooling fix: integration test by pacu · Pull Request #3 · Zondax/ledger-zcash-tools · GitHub
- Maintain Existing projects
- Get Ledger Hardware wallet support to the finish line and Get it done.
- DevRel:
- Prepare a presentation for the BlockchainCommons FROST Implementers Call of December 4th where the organizers invited me to do a walkthrough of the FROST-UniFFI-SDK project and its applications. (done)
