You get a better roi but the holder doesn’t so it makes sense for you but doesn’t make sense for the holder who has zcash
When staking?
Staking make zcash more valuable like better buy zcash than gpu or asic
If the cap of 21M can be kept + halving happens every 4 years like right now, then why not switch to PoS! It opens up a new door for the Zcash ecosystem with builders, developers, economists, crypto community, zodlers to play a bigger part in the zcash blockchain!
I believe keeping the 21M limit is very important for majority of the Zcash community, but we can have a poll on this.
The halving supply shock can be improvised by smoothing out the issuance over the years, with decreasing % returns for holders/stakers & validators every year, towards a hard limit of 21M ZEC.
With pure staking approach, I don’t think a hard limit of 21M ZEC would make sense anymore. It also doesn’t matter if PoS or PoW. What matters is utility, wider adoption & benefit for zodlers.
Don’t see a difference between a pow or pos approach. There’s roughly 3500 zecs mined a day, those would be the daily staked ones, with halvings each 4 years as is today. Tokenomics wise zcash hardcap of 21M and its scarcity is one of the elements that attracted people into the project.
pos calculator is needeed
It’s about time Zcash to PoS
Barry just retweeted this
…aaaand Zcash is moving to PoS. Stop buying useless miners and start buying $Z
I’m excited about the idea of migrating from POW to POS, it will provide remuneration for Zcash holders. But honestly, I wouldn’t have the courage to leave my wallet connected to the internet 24 hours a day, I’m scared and I think it’s insecure. but I would leave at least 1% of all my Zcash in a stake wallet generating remuneration on the network, in addition to helping the ecosystem with a full node validating transactions.
pure pos protocol has not proven itself as a proper censorship-resistance system
hybrid pow-pos still better with pow as a back up
