[Zipher] Zcash wallet for humans and agents (TestFlight open beta)

Hey all,

I’m happy to share something I’ve been working on for a while: Zipher. This one is a bit more experimental than Cipherscan and Cipherpay.

Zipher is a Zcash wallet for humans, merchants, and AI agents. It has a mobile app, a CLI, and an MCP server for agent workflows. Shielded by default (Orchard), with Sapling and transparent support. It also works across chains thanks to OWS.

Why another wallet?

I think there’s still a gap for a mobile Zcash wallet with a simple UI and some newer/experimental features: multi-account support, testnet, CipherPay checkout, FROST shared wallets, and AI/agent tooling.

I don’t see it as competing with Zodl, Zkool or other wallets. On Ethereum, Solana, or Bitcoin, people use several wallets depending on what they need. I think Zcash should have that too. More wallets means more resilience.

Important: Zipher has not been externally audited yet. Please use it carefully and don’t put serious funds in it for now. Some features are still alpha.

What you can do in the mobile app today:

  • Send and receive shielded ZEC (with memos)
  • Use multiple accounts
  • Use Zcash testnet
  • Swap ZEC to other chains (NEAR Intents)
  • View Bitcoin, EVM, and Solana addresses
  • Custom CipherPay checkout invoices
  • Export viewing keys
  • Try early Polymarket prediction market flows (Very early)
  • Try early FROST shared-wallet flows (Very early)

What you can do with zipher-cli and the MCP server:

  • All core wallet actions from the terminal
  • 29 MCP tools so AI agents can interact with Zcash natively
  • Spending policies, audit logging, and human-in-the-loop approval for agent transactions
  • x402/MPP paywall payments
  • Cross-chain swaps

The bigger idea is simple: AI agents are going to use money. I think they should be able to use Zcash too.

Open source: Zipher Github. The app is currently on TestFlight. Reply here or DM me for the link. Android version isn’t available yet

Any bugs or feedback is more than welcome. I’ve been by myself on this and on the side so there’s probably a lot
