Sorry, another suggestion: add reverse dns lookup and show the domain name (if any) instead of the ip (that you can show in a tooltip or in a second smaller row).

Hello Jenkin I have been a bit busy lately especially with Christmas but honestly your ideas are interesting and regarding the repository I will work on it this week because the current one is very outdated so I am going to update it and send you the link so you can make PRs to improve the tool and about your other suggestions I will spend this month and January planning how to implement them so thanks a lot and I will send you the github link this week to check the code

The goal of this project is to simplify the process of understanding the overall health of the Zcash ecosystem.
Who I Am
My name is SAFEGUARD LABS and I am passionate about privacy because its a fundamental human right and honestly the Zcash community has been incredible in helping me navigate this ecosystem since I started I have been contributing where I can by building tools and creating content on my YouTube channel about Zcash https://youtu.be/ITpruU91ojw and I am running a Zebra node to support the network I genuinely love being part of this community because everyone has been so supportive and the suggestions you give me for znodes.live I always try to implement them
What This Tool Solves
Right now Zcash does not have a dedicated node explorer like Bitcoin has with Bitnodes and this is a critical gap because we need to see in real time if our network is healthy and truly decentralized we need to monitor the migration from zcashd to Zebra we need to detect outdated nodes or suspicious patterns like Sybil attacks and we need to verify that nodes are distributed globally so the network can resist censorship this tool gives us visibility into the infrastructure that makes Zcash work
What We Are Building
We already have a working live map at znodes.live but we want to take it to the next level by upgrading to Ziggurat 3.0 which the ZecHub team mentioned would be challenging but worth it and here is what we are planning
Backend Improvements - Better crawler logic to discover both Zebra and zcashd nodes more efficiently
Privacy First Live Map - Showing only country or region never exact locations to protect node operators
Professional UI/UX - Hiring a designer to create a clean white and professional interface with black blue and gray tones no ads unlike Bitnodes
Node Trust System - Classifying nodes by stability and uptime with trust scores
Manual Node Discovery - Letting users add their own nodes to speed up discovery
Developer API - Public API so other developers can build on top of our data
Security Audits - Ensuring we do not keep logs IPs or cookies that compromise privacy
Better SEO - Professional domain and optimization so Znodes appears first not forum discussions
Educational Content - Quick installation guides and troubleshooting videos for Zebra nodes in multiple languages

What We Need
We are asking for 7000 dollars which is less than our previous proposal because we reduced it and what we cut was mainly our own programming labor our team wants to do this for Zcash because we genuinely believe in it so we only need funding for a professional web designer a VPS to run the infrastructure and resources to research and develop complementary tools that work with the node explorer
I would really appreciate if you could review this proposal and give me your honest feedback so we can understand everything before publishing on ZecHub and avoid pivoting too many times

Oh, and also consider to integrate host.zec.rocks/zec that lists the indexers (zaino and lightwalletd). Sometimes behind the same IP you have both a node and an indexer (it’s my scenario).
Generally speaking, integration with a growing ecosystem is one of the key of success.
Good luck with the grant’s proposal, but don’t underestimate community donations!

I might suggest changing the project name to something like “ZECnodes” explorer because unfortunately “Znodes” is also the name of a couple mods for Minecraft and Doom. You will have a hard time getting top Google ranking when competing against those older results.

yeah i was thinking of changing the domain for seo reasons but i honestly bought the .live one because it was only 2 dollars at the time im saving up for a new domain right now because im a bit short on cash
okay cool im going to work on this during the week i think around tuesday or wednesday ill have the github ready with the latest version including some of the updates you mentioned feel free to make a pr to improve it or download it and run it privately with your own mods also im checking out zcash me
Hey I have a quick question when I go to zcash me to create an account the page goes blank when I click join ive already tried other browsers do you know any alternatives for accepting donations and do you recommend putting a donation qr code on the page or on the forum could you explain that please thanks a lot.
