Summary
This project will promote Zcash awareness and adoption in Akwa Ibom State, Nigeria. In collaboration with existing moderators like @Cjfrankie, I plan to develop localized documentation, host community workshops, and onboard merchants to accept Zcash. The goal is to make Zcash more accessible to students, youth, and businesses while strengthening the Nigerian Zcash ecosystem.
Problem
Awareness of Zcash in Akwa Ibom is very low.
Few resources exist in local languages (Ibibio).
Merchants and individuals don’t know how to use shielded transactions or integrate Zcash into everyday life.
Proposed Solution
1. Create 6 beginner-friendly guides for students in the university of Uyo.(wallet setup, shielded transactions, buying ZEC, merchant onboarding, etc.).
2. Translate guides into Ibibio language.
3. Host 2 in-person workshops in Uyo (students & merchants).
4. Run 1 online awareness campaign (Telegram, Instagram, Twitter/X).
5. Onboard 10–15 merchants to accept Zcash.
6. Work with Zcash Nigeria moderators to ensure alignment with national community efforts.
