Project Summary
To continue developing a well-informed Zcash community in Nigeria by delivering accurate and accessible resources to individuals seeking privacy-focused financial solutions while fostering a strong, inclusive, and connected network.
Project Description
This project continues our mission to broaden the reach of Zcash in Nigeria, raise awareness about the importance of financial privacy, and strengthen the foundation of a vibrant and informed local community. Building on the solid progress made in recent months, we are now focused on deepening engagement, expanding outreach, and encouraging wider adoption of Zcash across the country.
With Nigeria’s growing interest in cryptocurrency and Zcash’s powerful privacy features, this next phase will prioritize education, tailored content creation, and grassroots events designed to inform, inspire, and empower individuals and businesses.
Our Goals
Expand Awareness: Educate more Nigerians on the importance of financial privacy and the unique benefits of Zcash technology.
Produce Localized Content: Create high-quality, accessible educational materials—including infographics, videos, and blog posts—tailored to the Nigerian context.
Grow the Community: Build a stronger Zcash Nigeria community through consistent engagement on Telegram, Twitter (X), and other platforms.
Promote Long-Term Adoption: Lay the groundwork for sustainable growth by establishing systems that keep the community informed and involved.
Host Local Events: Organize more meetups, AMA sessions, and collaborations with like-minded communities to share practical, accurate information.
Encourage Business Adoption: Onboard local merchants to accept ZEC as a form of payment, showing the real-world utility of privacy-preserving digital currency.
Proposed Problem
Despite Nigeria’s rapid embrace of cryptocurrency, awareness and understanding of financial privacy and Zcash in particular remain limited. Most individuals are unfamiliar with the value of privacy coins, and misconceptions often lead to skepticism or avoidance.
There are also significant gaps in educational resources, local content, and organized community activity around Zcash. Without access to trusted information or community support, many Nigerians are unable to fully explore the benefits Zcash offers.
Key Challenges Include:
Lack of Accurate Information: Most crypto education in Nigeria overlooks privacy oriented technologies like Zcash.
Widespread Misconceptions: Privacy coins are often misunderstood or wrongly linked to illegal activity.
Limited Merchant Adoption: Few businesses accept ZEC, making it difficult to use in daily transactions.
Weak Cross-Community Collaboration: There is minimal interaction between Zcash advocates and other privacy-focused communities, which limits knowledge-sharing and network growth.
Proposed Solution
To address these challenges and support the adoption of Zcash in Nigeria, we will take a multi-faceted, practical approach:
Education & Awareness
Localized Content Creation: We will produce articles, infographics, and short videos that explain Zcash’s privacy features and practical uses, tailored to Nigerian audiences.
Social Media Campaigns: Continued use of platforms like Twitter (X), Telegram, and blogs to share engaging, informative content on Zcash.
In-Person Events: Organize regular meetups in cities and universities to educate, build community, and demonstrate how to use Zcash effectively.
AMA Sessions: Host “Ask Me Anything” events/spaces featuring Zcash contributors and ecosystem experts to provide direct answers and build trust.
Cross-Community Collaboration: Partner with other privacy-oriented communities to strengthen our network and create shared opportunities for learning.
Merchant Adoption
Business Outreach: Engage directly with local merchants to demonstrate how Zcash can save costs and offer secure payment options.
Incentive Programs: Offer rewards and promotional support to businesses to begin accepting ZEC.
Practical Support: Provide training materials and one-on-one assistance to help businesses implement Zcash in their operations.
Localized Resources
Translation: Convert key Zcash documentation into local languages like Yoruba and Igbo to ensure accessibility for non-English speakers.
Sustainable Community Growth
Online Platforms: Manage active Telegram groups and social media pages such as tiktok, instagram and X to keep the community engaged, informed, and supported.
Participation Rewards: Launch small incentive programs (e.g., Zealy quests) to recognize contributors who help grow the community by creating content, helping new users, or spreading awareness.
Solution Format
This initiative is grounded in education, community building, and real-world adoption. By continuing to raise awareness of financial privacy and highlighting the power of Zcash, we aim to equip Nigerians with the knowledge, tools, and support they need to take control of their digital financial lives.
With Nigeria emerging as one of Africa’s most active cryptocurrency markets, now is the time to establish Zcash as a trusted and widely-used privacy solution.

Technical Approach
To effectively grow the Zcash community in Nigeria and promote financial privacy, we will implement a series of coordinated, community-driven efforts that emphasize education, accessibility, and adoption.
We will begin by engaging with local events and relevant organizations across Nigeria to introduce Zcash to new audiences and build meaningful connections with potential users and collaborators.
These in-person interactions will be complemented by structured learning initiatives that offer clear explanations of Zcash’s technology and the value of financial privacy in everyday life. we will also be activating zcashNigeria instagram to reach more audience as well as growing zcashNigeria tiktok channel
To ensure inclusivity, we will translate key Zcash documents and tutorials into widely spoken local languages such as Yoruba and Igbo, making educational resources more accessible to non-English speakers. At the same time, we will continue to manage and moderate our online community spaces like Telegram, and Twitter to provide ongoing communication, support, and engagement.
Supporting new users is a central part of our approach. We will provide onboarding sessions and personalized assistance to help individuals confidently join and navigate the Zcash ecosystem. Parallel to this, we will focus on increasing merchant adoption by reaching out to local businesses, educating them on the benefits of accepting ZEC, and guiding them through the integration process.
Content creation will play a vital role in this strategy. We will regularly publish blog posts, guides, and updates to keep the community informed and empowered. In-person meetups and workshops will offer hands-on learning experiences, while live “Ask Me Anything” sessions on social media will provide direct opportunities for the public to engage with Zcash advocates and have their questions answered.
Finally, we aim to expand our community outreach by targeting new regions, educational institutions, and online communities, ensuring that more Nigerians are introduced to Zcash and the financial freedom it offers. This comprehensive, people-first approach will help us build a strong, educated, and active Zcash community across the country.

First things first, I want to appreciate the Zcash foundation for their love, support and funding. We the Zcash Nigeria team is indeed grateful. We humbly request for another funding so we can continue spreading the word (Zcash) across Nigeria. This year is going to be a great year!!!
As a member of the Zcash Nigeria team, I’m proud of the impact we’ve made so far and this proposal is about taking that work to the next level. We’ve built trust in local communities, created content in our own languages, onboarded merchants, and reached people through platforms they actually use.
This isn’t theory, people are already learning, adopting, and using Zcash here gradually. With this funding, we can scale what’s already working and bring financial privacy to even more Nigerians.
I also love the fact that local translation will be extended to igbo Language and very soon if possible we will have Hausa Language. There won’t be any excuse for any Nigerian not to learn about Zcash. Keep up the good work guys!!
