An Open Letter to the Zcash Mining Community

Thanks, every bit helps!

I think open source miner(s) are exactly the types of projects in addition to non-linux platform support that the Zcash Foundation will fund when its setup (any update on the ETA for that, @zooko ?)

I just dropped a release candidate for Zcash for Windows, but am STILL short on rent!

Yes I’ve been meaning to add a ā€œContributionsā€ page! That’ll be in the round of website updates when I get docs written for the Windows release

Good idea! So far the largest donors have been anonymous (it IS zcash!), such as the Xmas Eve donation that paid january’s rent

I have just sent you 7 ZEC. Hope that’s enough to cover the rent!

thank you, yes, that’ll pick up my ISP bill for the month, too!

so what’s your vote for next on my hit-list…localization support or Android full node?

I leave this up to you… for whatever the demand from the community is most.

Just curious - what is meant by ā€˜localisation support’?

foreign languages, right now its english only and the machinery to do builds for other languages is NOT there right now

I don’t see that as a priority right now. I think that if you can distribute up to date all in One ZCash client (Full node + Gui) for all platforms (Linux, MacOS and Windows) and distribute it on an unique website that’d be great.

yeah there has been more call for an android full node for high end phones right now than foreign language support…I’m working on getting linux/win/mac all in one source tree right now (they are in 3 branches at the moment)
