The ZIP for UA doesn’t mention automatic migration and I don’t know how it is going to work. I was under the impression that it requires the wallet to make transactions because it is what zcashd does today. Having compatibility at the protocol would be great for long term storage. I hope that’s what they support moving forward.

Halo also opens the doors to much better scalability at L1. I am very excited for this

The UA ZIP doesn’t need to include auto-shielding feature as it will be done by the client(wallet). As long as the receiver’s wallet can generate a UA, they can receive funds in transparent or shielded address and auto-shield any funds sent to T-addrs.
