honestly, plan on running a positive campaign! main thing i’m doing ATM is trying to identify all cryptocurrencies that could be considered sound money. non-fungible alts are off the list. i’m struggling with XMR due to uncapped/infinite supply.

Oops Lol yeah it is, I was thinking to myself “man he aged terribly!” Ill fix it
Orson Welles… Yeah Im gonna laugh about this all day!
I think I just confused the phonetics with Orwell and "Or"son "Well"es :grimacing: Thank you for pointing that out

Urgh dash it all! :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes:
I mean if you guys really think the Orson Welles version is better we can do that even though it was an accident! I don’t know!
(Eh whatever, its Thursday people we’re almost there)

Thoughts?

Edit Re: Orson Welles Meme: In “Impossible to Ignore” (recommended) the author writes that a great marketing strategy is to have “A little bit of wrongness” in your message. If there’s a great, persuasive succinct point on the left side of the meme, but the picture is “wrong,” ppl may end up abuzz fact checking Orson Welles/Orwell, that’s reach for the message that matters. In this way one can harness haters/nitpickers’ nature and make them work for you.

Not saying I think this is THE clever instance of wrongness to fly with, but why not give it a try? It’s a decent example, it’s good to think about, and I promise you will now start to see it in day-to-day PR.

Edit 2: I guess I’m thinking a lot today, but in general I think we should be less worried about polish and quality. The internet is built for feedback. I think A/B testing is a more reliable path to quality product. Let’s break some eggs. @Autotunafish was not afraid to share with us, and as a result, I’m thinking about big big things. That’s positive-sum af. Thanks man

I keep thinking of remixing MC Hammers “Cant Touch This”…changed to “Cant Track This”

Not volunteering to produce a music video, I cant dance & sing like Homer Simpson - but it’d be hilarious.

lol! producing parody videos/original music could be a very good thing for zcash! probably make decent memes with MC hammer too. http://giphygifs.s3.amazonaws.com/media/hxc32veg6tbqg/giphy.gif
:notes: can’t track this :notes: seriously lol

Well, I looked into it - its been a slow afternoon.

There’s approx 4000 video frames to edit & the little squirt sure can move - not going to be easy or quick.

100% agree with this. tmek on Twitter does it pretty well. The Foundation isn’t positioned to pull this off, but you guys are.

coin taint is the reason why bitcoin lacks uniformity.

So, I finally got a Twitter account & have been rummaging around… not really into social media.

I’m pretty sure I just connected my phone to humanities septic tank with a fire hose. There’s a filter of sorts, but all that does is strain out the lumps.

I guess AMG can’t pick its battleground, its going to be rather unpleasant.

Yeah I stick to the twitter crawlspace myself!

Yeah, that sums it up :joy:

Makes you appreciate the fine job sonya does managing social media, she prob has to have accounts on all of them (shudder).

I think twitter’s really good if you just mute/block negativity. Really a lot of cool, fresh, diverse thinking in one place.

Here y’go - its a bit rough, cant seem to get things to sync properly but what the heck.

Edit: New version, more animation

ZEC-dance

Doing MC Hammers moves

Need a caption/slogan to graffiti on the wall…

Does this help? it is a much slower variant. mc hammer relevant at 2:21 - but listen to the whole tune, and get a much more obvious version of the dance.

I turned up the playback speed just for giggles

Animated by hand for 25fps, took a while. Thats why cartoons are never broadcast live, its a terrible strain on the animators wrist.

We can all agree that crypto has a non-zero loss rate. People die. People misconfigure software. People forget passwords. People mistype addresses. Hard disks crash.
I’ve seen estimates of almost a quarter of all bitcoin to have been lost.

We can disagree over the minimum loss rate. Whether it’s at least 2%, or at least 1%. But most people can agree there’s little to no hope of getting it below 0.1%.

Given this, does it really matter that some point in the future, one coin has 0 emission, and another has 0.1% emission? In neither case does the amount of spendable coins increase.

That’s why your focus on finite vs infinite seems to be missing the point.

All we can ask from a cryptocurrency is that the rate of inflation steadily diminishes toward zero. So that at some point the amount of spendable coins becomes effectively capped.

Bitcoin does this. So does Zcash. So does XMR. Even Grin does.
They just differ in how fast the rate of inflation goes toward 0.

i have a problem calling XMR’s supply limited when the supply is infinite.

  1. nobody can tell me how much monero will exist in XMR’s lifespan.
  2. nobody can tell me what year XMR will stop being issued.

this is not sound money.

to answer this, yes it does matter

i would invest in the coin with 0 emission
