BTC = Bad Tracking Cookie
would be fixed, but as i said “one could subjectively argue supply’s limited.”
dunno, box …the people that invented uncapped supply based off gold inflation is liking my tweets. think primecoin knows a thing or two about uncapped supply based off gold inflation!
okay, been it’s been fun! thanks for the debate. going to check the fish store to see if they got crabs in yet!
only if you don’t care about definitions, for me and i guess most clear thinking others fixed is just fixed and not limited. Maybe the definition of “limited” helps here:
- small in amount or number
- kept within a particular size, range, time, etc.:
- confined within limits
To apply the both it would be something like:
Fixed: No matter what happens it’s just that much.
Infinite: whenever there is demand coins will be issued to satisfy the demand, no limits, no nothing.
Limited: There is a planned small issuance with forseeable restirctions in amount, time, size and range as all this are allready calculated and can not be changed like within an infinite supply.
About the meme you posted. Someone can make whatever claims on twitter and often words are used wrong or with having something else in mind. Of course often such methods are used to attack another project as we witness ourselfs more than often enough, but that doesn’t make it true. And as i said in my very first post in this thread, if you really successfully want to argue and battle something/someone it should be done fair and very argumented with references. That’s time consuming of course, needs research and even double checking own theories but it’s in my opinion the only way to convience someone successfully. I could of course be wrong, just giving you argumentation that is backed up.
Going to work as well, took allready way to much time away too ![]()
If any of y’all are on Twitter: https://twitter.com/ZebbuFund/status/1176557883422629888
Wooo! More twitter fame.
I’m getting into this… feel the need to meme
…anyone got a theme? Post it & I’ll see what I can come up with.
Why stop at 2050? What are the numbers for 2060, 2070, 2080, etc…?
(Fixed, was Orson Welles, ha!
)
And you know what’s even more F’d up? That quote isn’t taken out of context one single bit
Isn’t that a picture of Orson Welles, not Orwell? I think it makes the meme better not worse anyway

or in about 525 years there will be an issuance of 100m, that’s about 18 generations, lol.
Is the year 2530 enough or do you need it further, lol?
Lol, it is almost like you could put the formula into excel and just drag to find out any issuance on any date.
You can do that with bitcoin and zec too. but not fiat! - this is the point you are going to lose on kek, this is what you are fundamentally not getting. if something is to be used as cash it has to have infinite issuance. (box can and has explained this much better than I could have)
It is just advice, pick your battles. Fight bitcoin, not XMR. even then i’d say fight Fiat not other magic internet money.
This is the point I was making when I said “who is your target audience?”
- you wont win new people over with your infinite money forced meme.
- you wont bring new people into crypto that had not been before with that meme.
- You wont win over bitcoiners with that meme,
- you wont win over privacy coin people with that meme.
What are you challenging with it and why? it just seems like you are shit posting. Which will not end well. especially if you want the foundation to endorse your activities. I really do wish you well, but I know you don’t like my suggestions. Just please think about what you are doing and who you are trying to win over, then use arguments to appeal to those people.
The fact you cannot back up your claim in the slightest without having to deliberately misinterpret what “sound money” is on this forum, a non hostile place for you means you probably shouldn’t be using that angle. There is so much more to promote and correct.
You yourself said that this
correct FUD/promote zcash (no trolling/antagonizing) on all social media platforms of significance
Shit posting is trolling/antagonising. I agree with everyone of your ideals except your style of doing it. I really don’t want to discourage you.
Also would you please clarify these things for me
plan on devoting my time for 1 full year to accomplish stated goals
How many hours a day?
How many days a week?
What metric can we use to judge you are doing this amount of work?
What metric can we use to judge if your work has been a success or not?
looking for community feedback, because we are going to apply for a ZF grant
I know I know, I am not allowed to post in this thread. but I am community and this is my feedback.
point is XMR supply is infinite. there will still be new XMR issued in the year 5,000.
Actually In the year 5,000 there will be 494.5M XMR, that’s because it has limited supply, lol.
I’am well aware that it sounds confusing and somehow non logic.
Trying with another example:
Let’s say Microsoft sells shares. In the first 10 years they decide to sell 1M shares yearly. After the 10th year they decide to sell per yearl only 10k shares for every following year, that’s a limited supply of shares after the 10th year.
See definition of limited:
- small in amount or number (it says small, not 0! That seems the point that confuses you as you think *new coins invalidate the limited, but it’s not like that, it just has to be a lower number)
- kept within a particular size, range, time, etc.: (it says kept, not stops!)
- confined within limits (it says within limits, not arbitrary!)
Definition of infinite:
- limitless or endless in space, extent, or size; impossible to measure or calculate. (As you can see i calculated allready for the year 5000 the amount of XMR and can calculate it for whatever year you wish!).
mitless or endless in space, extent, or size; impossible to measure or calculate . (As you can see i calculated allready for the year 5000 the amount of XMR and can calculate it for whatever year you wish!).
you cannot tell me how much XMR will exist in monero’s lifespan.
the reason you cannot tell me this is the supply is infinite. there’s nothing left to discus here. monero people themselves are calling their own supply infinite nowadays. had one guy tell me the supply’s infinite because asteroid mining. lol
had one guy tell me the supply’s infinite because asteroid mining. lol
Strong argument, lol. I wish you a lot of good luck.
there’s nothing left to discus here.
Agreed, it’s a waste of time now.
I have some doubts that the ZF is going to finance/sponsor such way of argumentation, but you never know, lol.
don’t care! i’m doing this regardless, because it needs to happen. think ECC’s high level marketing working in tandem with AMG’s low level marketing will work wonders for zcash. i’m only waiting for the state to approve the legal entity i set up. foundation grant would make it a little less rough on my pockets, but it’s going to happen no matter what.
if something is to be used as cash it has to have infinite issuance.
I’m going to disagree with this a little bit.
The fact that Bitcoin and Zcash are dividable to 0.00000001 so: 2,100,000,000,000,000 (or 2 quadrillion, 1 hundred trillion) means even though the whole number of 21M seems small it’s dividable more than the entire current supply of US currency ( about 1.7 trillion)
And thereby could function as a replacement US currency right now.
In theory you are right, but some points to note and/or adjust:
-
While 1.7 trillion are in circulation the amount of issued US$ over the time is much higher. Circulation is not the same as “ever issued”.
-
About the dividable. It’s a bit like comparing apples and oranges. Either you compare both units as a full unit/size, ex. 1 Dollar and 1 ZEC or compare both with their dividables.
And thereby could function as a replacement US currency right now.
I agree that this would be possible in theory right now, but what about in 50 years? More and more coins get lost or are no more accessable? It’s not rocket science and i think we can all agree that in the end, without further issuance the circulating supply after mined, gets less and less. That’s not a good property for money. The ideal case for money would be that as much as lost/destroyed money is minted again to keep the circulating supply at the same level.
I’m going to disagree with this a little bit.
Sure, i see where you are coming from. I also like the divisibility argument. but the issuance curve of monero doesn’t impact that. in 500 years will the economy still be the same? cryptos should evolve along this curve too.
im bitcoin oldschool and monero going on forever does seem a bit odd to me too, but after doing the numbers (a long time ago) it doesn’t really do much. But I know little about business. I like zec because it had the jump start of the ECC. (that’s why I went with zec over monero initially. that and zk proofs are a lot more my thing.)
However I have read arguments for cash systems needing to be able to indefinitely print money, but that also seems to go hand in hand with being able to print money at will. Notice cash is different from gold. I am talking about a medium for transaction. zcash i don’t think is that medium, not at the moment anyway. It is more like bitcoin. (I am not saying it cant become digital cash, but I see monero as having the more convincing arguments. - but like I said I don’t know about economics. box does. so I agree with him.
)
Printing money at will causes inflation. Printing money to pay debt causes financial disaster for financial institutions.
I think these are different points. It is a shame kek wont respond to my post - I thought we sorted all this out via PM when we had that argument about that youtuber?
The website and pumping out daily news is an amazing idea and worthy of a grant in itself. mix in a pod cast and i think you have a winner.
pod cast
yes, yes, yes!!! podcast is a great idea! think there’s enough characters on the forum alone that could make entertaining content.
