Bank-to-Zcash Gateway: A Secure Fiat On/Off Ramp Solution

Hi Zcash Community,

I’m applying for a grant to develop an On/Off Ramp Solution for Zcash.

Idea: Offer an easy way to convert between Argentine Pesos (ARS) and Zcash.

Problem: Currently, acquiring Zcash in Argentina requires a lengthy process:

  1. Go to a cryptocurrency exchange.
  2. Sign up and provide KYC (Know Your Customer) information.
  3. Transfer funds into your exchange account.
  4. Purchase another cryptocurrency with your deposited funds (since not all exchanges directly offer Zcash).
  5. Send the purchased cryptocurrency to a different exchange (or DEX) that supports a Zcash trading pair.
  6. Finally, withdraw Zcash to your wallet.

Solution: My proposed solution simplifies this process to just a few steps:

  1. Provide your Tax ID/Account Number and wallet address only once.
  2. Transfer funds in Argentine Pesos (ARS) to a designated “Zerem” bank account or send Zcash directly to a “Zerem” wallet.
  3. Receive the equivalent amount of FIAT (ARS) in your bank account or Zcash in your wallet.

Additional Note: This solution can be easily adapted for future implementation in Brazil with Brazilian Reais (BRL) as well.
